Read some helpful reviews of Castro Valley Hayward Storage at 2457 Grove Way, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I loved this storage! I used to use Public Storage and they just got too expensive. Thankfully Castro valley storage was right next door. Very affordable, clean, and big on security! I just moved out of the storage because I just moved into a bigger home! I’m so thankful for the this storage and how accommodating they are. Also, the manager is awesome and very helpful/knowledgable! I would definitely rent storage again if I need to and recommend to anyone! ... Read more

New to this but ... So much better than Extra Space Storage. Not a uber corporation which is constantly raising rent, Bay Area Consumer Checkbook now advises people to sell or dump everything because storage rent costs are so high. Here rent is considerably less. When shown the property, manager Martel didn't complain, documents were easy, terms clear, place is much cleaner and better maintained (compare it to Public Storage next door), bathroom during business hours. They have a moving van to help get you in. ... Read more

I moved there from the Public Storage right next door. The places couldn’t be any more different. PS had no staff on site (CVHS managers live on site), no restroom, always dirty, sketchy looking people practically looking like they lived there. CVHS has not just a gate at the front, but alarms on individual units. The biggest problem with PS was raising my rent by 50% or more every six months! In just over a year and a half, my rent went from $54 to $161. CVHS raised my rent once in just over a year, from $73 to $89. I had zero issues with rodents or any other pests. Even minor stuff that becomes huge annoyances at PS like not having a drop pin to secure the auto closing door to the hallway so you have to struggle with a heavy auto closing door getting out and having to unlock the thing every time you go back in became infuriating when I had to make more than a few trips. I will absolutely come back to CVHS if I need storage again. ... Read more

I rented a large drive up unit from this place for over a year. It was awesome that they kept my rate the same for one year before they increased the monthly rate (not that much). The facility seems secure enough with a keypad code for entry and exit and I never had an issue with theft here. The only things I did not like about my experience were 1) I could never figure out their autopay (or maybe they didn't have it?), so each month for 1.5 years, I had to login to my account to make the payment manually, and 2), they have mice or rats or something, because over the course of months after moving in, I noticed mice or rat droppings on my boxes, some cardboard boxes had been chewed through, and every time I opened my storage unit garage door, there were some like plant flyaways (I don't know what they are, they look like little dried brown ashes from a plant or something) caked at the bottom of my garage door, and they would always get all over my things and in my boxes. A lot of spider webs and spiders also accumulated at the corner of the inside of my garage doors. This is probably the downside to renting a pull-up garage storage unit. I ended up throwing away a lot of stuff because I was disgusted by the evidence of mice/rats on my belongings. The workers were always friendly here though, and they also made checking-out super easy here. ... Read more

Storage units available at Castro Valley Hayward Storage - 2457 Grove Way include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 9 to 800 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Castro Valley Hayward Storage - 2457 Grove Way start from $41 and can go up to $1,177 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
