NOT so SECURE SecureCare self storage. I have been using this facility's parking spots in the back of the self storage area for 4-5 years. The rates are OK, but the SECURity is not. At the front entrance, you need a code to get either in or out, but that is not the issue. The yard backs up to a drainage channel that is essentially a superhighway for thieves to gain access to the rear of the property. There is no light back there and thieves know that no one is at the property at night. They cut through the barbed wire at the back of the property, climb the fence and have a shopping spree. They hit the 2 boats that I had there, as well as an RV that is being stored there and another vehicle. I informed the front office of the break ins and they told me that they had saw that my boat cover had been sliced open, but had yet to inform me that my boat had been broken into. I also had shown them where the thieves had moved the barbed wire aside for them to climb over the fence. I moved my more expensive boat into a locked shop and then moved one of my extra work vans out to the rented space instead. 1 week after the first break in, thieves hit again. They busted out the side window on my van and.......had their way off with whatever they wanted again. Once again, the thieves had cut through the barbed wire and climbed over the fence from the drainage wash area (Shocker!!) Being livid, I checked in with the office to find out what course of action was to be taken to stop further break ins. They need lights back there, then need cameras pointed in the drainage channel walkway, as well as the storage yard side of the fence, barbed wire that cannot easily be cut through and much more of it. Maybe even an electric fence. As of now, I've only gotten empty promises that the manager will call me back as to what steps that are being taken to "Secure" the area. Thinking that my experience won't apply to you, because you are looking for self storage.....wrong. Thieves have also broken into the lot and cut through the slide bolt that secured their self storage lockers. The thieves made off with thousands of dollars of computers and other goods. Once again, no type of security in place to keep this from happening. IF you have anything of value, DO NOT store it here. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at SecurCare Self Storage - 1377 South Lilac Avenue include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by SecurCare Self Storage - 1377 South Lilac Avenue start from $74 and can go up to $474 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
