I have to admit the facility looks a bit rundown but the new owners are in the process of renovating. The prices are reasonable, hopefully they do not go up on a consistent basis. Staff members accommodating and pleasant. Ander is the manager at the property in Bakersfield that is housing my items, check him and his team out. ... Read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! My grandma's unit got broken into multiple times, her unit was directly under a camera and when I try to talk to management about it they don't even care, telling me it happens all the time, that half the cameras don't even work, and have no security what so ever on Sundays. The only thing they cared about was that the night security team during the week was leaving the gate open. Even then nothing was done about that and it continues to happen. ... Read more

Unit was dirty as though it had never been swept out. Was full of previous owners possessions. Was required MANDITORY insurance. Basically no cameras on the isles or building to which I was given a unit it. I was told i had to come so I could get gate code. I was not given a gate code. I was told gate is only open from 9-6. As I was leaving homeless people were entering the complex on bicycles and staff made no attempt to confront them. Staff was poor at best. Never could speak up, as though they were kids forced to work and trying to hide everything. Really a dump!!! ... Read more

I’m happy to share my experience with US Storage on 30th Street in Bakersfield. I’ve been renting a unit there for about a year, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Recently, I needed to change the size of my storage unit, and Ander Brown, the property manager, assisted me with the process. He was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful, making the entire transaction seamless. The only issue I have is that this location really needs a key-code gate. This is the only storage facility I’ve ever rented from that doesn’t have a security gate, and considering it’s located in a tougher part of town, adding one would make a huge difference. I would feel much more comfortable if corporate could make this improvement. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 30 to 288 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by US Storage Centers - 111 30th Street start from $34 and can go up to $159 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
