What customers are saying

Read some helpful reviews of Stor-Mor Self Storage at 1050 North Armando Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Superb customer service! The manager is a gentleman of the first order who treats everyone with courtesy and respect. My unit is a drive up so no elevator and it has a 12 foot ceiling! They encouraged me put shelves in so I can get whatever I need without having to move something else! More than anything else, I feel safe. There are cameras, motion detectors, and license plate readers so someone is always keeping an eye the place. Stor-Mor gives me Peace of Mind because I know that my stuff is secure, management is trustworthy, and owner wants nothing more from me than the rent. I found out that for security they check every lock in the facility twice each day. When my door was not properly locked the Manager called to warn me and insist that I return to fix the problem. Because I own a business I get a 5% discount and 24 hour access, while most have 6:00am to 7:00pm access. It takes me only two minutes to get on the 91 freeway from my unit and that gets me everywhere else without being stopped at red lights on surface streets. ... Read more

Absolute criminals. Father-in-law had a unit here for literally decades and after his sudden death we discovered the payments he had been making and attempted to access the unit. They immediately locked the unit with their own lock and told us we had to wait 40 days before we could access it. This was the first week of December and on that day they told us that the account was current and nothing was owing. They told us that Dad had just been there a month or so before. In late January we made arrangements with them in advance of hauling our trailer 10 hours back there to open the unit and empty it out. We had an appointment to access the unit at 10am. When we arrived with our trailer and our muscle to help, the office was closed. We tried calling and the person who answered snapped at us “there’s a sign in the window.” We tried to say that we had an appointment and he cut us off “I’ll be back at 11.” So we waited in the driveway until he came back. Once inside the office he told us we would have to wait u til he got the lawyer to approve our access. The lawyer, however, was apparently unavailable. After waiting another half hour we started pressing and he said “well we can get things started by clearing up this balance.” He then proceeded to try and convince us that somehow in the 40 days that we were required to wait before being granted access that this unit had run up over $600 in charges. After arguing with him for another 20 minutes or so he finally “got approval” to lower the charges to only $200. When we finally got into the unit we discovered that it had not been opened anytime in the past 20 years at least. All mouse droppings and cobwebs and dust mites. We had to pay another $300 to haul away the junk so they didn’t bill us even more. They clearly extorted money from a grieving family to avoid the cost of cleaning out a unit they had been collecting on for over 30 years. ... Read more

I've never had a problem in more than 10 years at this facility, but dealing with James the manager today has made me want to move all of my belongings out of this place. They apparently "changed their credit card processing company" and claimed to have sent me a letter which I never got. They claimed to have called me several times, but had a bad phone number that I didn't even know. Then after my rent was late, he tracked down my actual phone number online, and called me to let me know. He answered the phone while driving in the golf cart, and said that they sent me an email, but when he got to the office found out that they did not send any emails and he was speaking in generalities. He did not offer to waive the late fee, and was not apologetic at all. His customer service was the worst I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. ... Read more

He's also always been very professional and if there is ever an issue or an update pertaining to ur space he's on top of it. Great communication. Thank u James for doing such a great job. I appreciate it. ... Read more

Stor-Mor was definitely the best choice of all for our storage needs. James, the Manager, is a perfect gentleman, and a consummate professional! My wife and I were stressed as ever about downsizing from a four bedroom house to a two bedroom condo, and from the first friendly “Good Morning” over the phone, until the last stick of furniture was placed into the spacious unit we rented, everything went smoothly. Stor-Mor looks nice from the street, and the office was a real treat. James opened the door and welcomed me into a very serene place. Inside the office, it must have been 30 degrees cooler that the burning 103 degrees outside, during the last heatwave. The place is immaculate, and calming. There is a fountain in there and a radio quietly playing classical music on top of polished granite counters, and feels more like a doctor’s office than a store! There’s a slight smell the disinfectant in the air, which is reassuring these days. Later, while unloading the UHaul, we were truly grateful when James drove by in his shiny golf cart to give us water bottles and mini chocolate candies! Great guy! Our drive up unit has an 11 foot ceiling, which, we heard, provides 40% more cubic volume than other places we had considered. We love it, and highly recommend Stor-Mor! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Stor-Mor Self Storage - 1050 North Armando Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Stor-Mor Self Storage - 1050 North Armando Street start from $80 and can go up to $420 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
