Supposed to be Rent Controlled

I've been living here around 3 years. Loved it at first as the rent was very affordable around $720 for a 2 bedroom. We have had consistent rate hikes every year, sometimes multiple times a year, even during the pandemic. Now, rent is closer to $1,200. No renovations have been made. The parking lot looks like a minefield. The apartments are spacious yet OLD. All the appliances are OLD. The "playground" is 2 slides. The "clubhouse" is just the manager's always locked office building. The laundry room and fitness area are both the size of walk-in closets and the equipment is also OLD and barely functional. The 2 grills by the slides are also OLD, rusted, and are disintegrating. No matter how many times the apartment filters get changed (even supplemented by a personal HEPA filter) everything is always covered in dust. The few good points are that the apartments are spacious, water is included, and the staff (literally just a Manager and one Maintenance person) are always kind and friendly. I was excited when I first moved here as I was really struggling and used to recommend this place to anyone I knew who was looking and needed help. I thought I would be here a long time, but I can't see that as an option anymore.
