Downtown LA: Best place to live with a pet?

It would be hard to find any part of LA that doesn’t have pet friendly apartments, but downtown is rumored to be rolling out the red carpet not just for renters, but for their four-legged friends, too.

A recent story in the Blogdowntown takes a look at all of the pet-friendly amenities being delivered at local businesses, and renters say that they have no trouble finding apartments in the area that welcome pets.

With some workplaces and department stores also allowing well-behaved dogs to come to the office along with their owners, it may not be long before there are no barriers to where dogs can roam.

The dog “bar” at the Los Angeles Brewing Company is my favorite pet friendly spot. Nothing makes me feel more guilty than leaving my dog at home when all I’m leaving the house for is to go have a beer with my friends. Being able to bring her along makes a big difference to my peace of mind, and I know she loves hanging out with all the other dogs there! It’s really just like going to the dog park.

I don’t think downtown is the most dog friendly neighborhood of all, though. I know a lot of renters who are very happy with their pet friendly lifestyle in:

Manhattan Beach – Where dogs are everywhere, but especially happy jogging on the bark trail with their people between Manhattan and Redondo. Fittest dogs around!

Silverlake and Echo Park – Hipsters love dogs, Silverlake and EP dogs enjoy some great local dog parks as well as patio dining at many local restaurants.

Hollywood – The best dressed dogs, with plenty of boutiques to accessorize their look. If there was ever a runway of dog couture, it’s definitely on Sunset in West Hollywood!

Where’s your favorite pet friendly neighborhood in LA?
