5 Gadgets for a hip dorm room

dorm lifeLife away from home can seem frightening at first. Although Los Angeles dorm rooms are nice, with pretty much everything you could ever need during this new academic year, they still remain plain and impersonal. While you cannot recreate your home environment, you can add a personal touch to the space and make it more comfortable, bohemian and casual, just how a cool kid’s room should look like. What you need is a bit of creativity and some must-have gadgets.

  1. Laptop? Check! E-book? Check! Smartphone? Check! But did you think how messy your desk will look like with all the power cords and cables running loose? The solution is that easy: CableDrop Cable Clips. Cable clips can be placed on or behind your desktop and gently grasp your power and peripheral cords so they do not fall off your desk every time you unplug your laptop. They also make great pen holders.

  1. Breakfast is too important to skip and shared living does not always allow for lots of cooking utensils and appliances. The 3 in 1 Breakfast Station comes with a 2-Cup Coffee Maker with built-in filter, a toaster oven and a frying pan for eggs, bacon, or sausage. If only it had an alarm clock and an IPod dock attached…that would had been awesome. Also make sure you check university policies before bringing one to campus. Some don’t allow toaster ovens in dorm rooms.
  2. If you want to add something truly unique to your room décor, you could try getting a LED lamp with air purifier. With an innovative design and chic features, the lamp gives you the bright (or dim) light needed for any task or book, while refreshing the air around you.
  3. Bedding is one simple way to add color and personality to your L.A. quarters. While dark color sheets are much more convenient for dorm life, a patterned or colorful sheet set, complemented by a matching comforter, a blanket or two decorative pillows will make your sleeping nook vibrate with energy and strength.
  4. Trouble getting out of bed in the mornings? I know, we’ve all been there, it’s because of all the studying late at night, right?! Clocky or Tocky rolling alarm clocks are perfect for sleepyheads like us. Besides being so cute, these clever little thingies will leap off your nightstand and run away like crazy, beeping to ensure you’re awake. Just have a look at the video below:
