Bait and Switch

Soon after signing my lease in 2021, the property was sold and under new management. All of the desirable selling points around the amenities changed. The non-smoking community is filled with smokers. The dog owners don't always pick up after their dogs. The noise level is unbearable due to the poorly insulated walls (I can hear every word of Family Feud and from my upstairs neighbor's TV in the wee hours of the morning). Residents can commonly be found placing trash in the hallways and outside of their units. Instead of placing trash down the chutes, residents are tossing bags onto the trash room floors. Last year we barely got to use the pool because they had a hard time securing lifeguards. This year, the pool hours during the weekday are reduced to four hours during the evening (4pm - 8pm). This is utterly ridiculous for the amount of money we pay AND the fact that the rent increased.
