I love my building and unit. Little expensive for what i get but competitive for the area.

The building manager has been an issue from day one, she is very controlling and nosy rude at time to tenants. She feels because she's works for Cagan management they will believe her over the tenant's word. This is an old building that has poor installation which causes you to be able to hear upper and lower neighbors walking and living activities day or night, I just ignore it, as this is part of what comes with living in shared units. We all work different shifts and some attend night school and not everyone is blessed with an 8 to 4pm or banker's hours. Therefore, you cannot expect people to not walk when it's convenient for you or walk on eggshells and pins and needles when they are paying their rent. I've been living in Evanston over 30 years and never have experience 3AM bangs at the door telling me to stop walking, this is totally unacceptable and very embarrass as well. I was unaware of the prior issues that this unit had before moving into this place unit after I had signed the lease and a neighbor told me. It has been very stressful and made this place unleavenable for me and my family. I told her this issue is not the tenants, but the building installation and after I'm gone the issue will still exist and continue on making it unhealthy living situation. Although she keeps the building clean, she will be the reason people will not live her long at all its time for a change in management in this building for the better.
