Property Description
What others love about this property:
Great apartment and servives
great place and location. The maintenance has been quite helpful.
240 Greene St
240 Greene street is such a unique find amongst New Haven. There are lofted apartments renovated from an old school. From the outside it may be unexpected with the school exterior still intact. Nevertheless, the inside includes renovated apartments with high ceilings and modern appliances. I currently live in the 2B2B and there are 2 seperate lofted areas. This apartment is definitely one of the best I’ve lived at with its amazing location and friendly neighbors. The realtor lives in one of the units next door and is always so kind and so responsive. Such an amazing place ton live.
It’s a very quiet area close to downtown
In my opinion the rent is super expensive for a place that doesnt have much amenities, like a gym, a pool or anything of that sort. Maintenance responds quite fast so no problem wuth that. The apartments are upgraded so i guess you pay for what you get.
New resident
Newly renovated lofts, look nice on the surface but the renovation work was shoddy in some ways. I think moving in after the building just opened I experienced some growing pains. Some of the amenities were not ready at the time of move in. For example the storage rooms were not ready for several months. Also they did not install a buzzer system for nearly 9 months and that led to many packages “disappearing” because they would be left outside. Water pressure is on the lower side in the building which is disappointing since it’s newly renovated. The quality of the fixtures is low, for example the door handles on all of my doors already feel like they are going to fall apart after just a few months. There were weird things like several of my windows don’t have locking mechanisms. I had to ask management to come and install locks. That’s another thing, work order response time is several weeks at best. Granted it wasn’t an emergency but it also isn’t a huge building. The last thing I will say is the management style is poor. I’ll give two examples. One day I woke up to find I had no running water. I walked around the building to see if there was anyone doing work on the building and found two guys. They said “water is shut off for the whole day, you should have been notified”. It was 9:30am. I looked at my email and there was an email, that was sent at 9:15 am stating that water would be shut off all day from 9am. They sent the email after the water was shut off. Amazing. The other example is I came home to find my key to the get in the building no longer worked. I tried calling management (it’s not easy getting anyone live on the phone) and no luck. Luckily caught someone leaving and entered the building. Management called me back many minutes later to say yes the locks had been changed. No notification and the new keys were in our mailbox. How are we supposed to get to the keys if we can’t enter the building. Good job. Bottom line, great location, but very badly run
