I dont even have a unit here but I feel bad for whoever got one in building H, and any other building that only has 1 single working keypad. Recently won an auction here and missed my deadline cause 1.) my access code didn’t work on the last day I needed it. 2.) only one keypad works in building H 3.) nobody showed up until 9-9:30am when posted hours is open at 6am for both access and office hours. My deadline was at 10:30am. Just as they do, I also have things scheduled throughout my day/week. ... Read more

Came to transfer units and Tie helped me with everything to make it a smooth transition with minimal costs. Thanks for all your help today and for the past year. I've rented at this Fredericksburg Rd. location since 2016, and, although all the employees of past years are good natured and do their jobs properly, Tie's been the best employee that I've met there. Tie makes the visit enjoyable with her good humor, great personality and caring attitude. There should be more people like her. Have a great day, every day, Tie and crew. -Mel ... Read more

I had an awesome experience. Barbara was kind and very informative. Allowed me to see units to get a mental picture of size i would need for my benefit. And she explained all possibilities of switching units if needed. It was my first time ever renting a storage unit and Barbara made this experience so much easier than I expected. If I could give 6 stars I would. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 3440 Fredericksburg Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
