I have had a storage unit here for over a year and today when I opened my unit, I was shocked to see a very large rat climbing up the wall inside the facility. I want to be clear that I did not store any food at all in my unit. This is not a new issue. I have been dealing with concerns for over a year, and every time I leave a voicemail for the manager, I never receive a call back. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely frustrating. Seeing rodents in a storage facility is unacceptable, especially when customers are trusting the company with personal and valuable belongings. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness, pest control, and overall management. I would not recommend this location unless they significantly improve pest control and customer service. The photo attached is an example of the size that the rat was ... Read more

Awesome customer service! I live in another city, and had not accessed my unit in several months. I needed to know what the unit door lock looked like, so I could bring the right key. Rachel was very helpful, and promptly called me back with the info I needed. Saved me a lot of time. Additionally, she provided useful tips on access to the property. Great customer service! ... I had a major issue with my unit and was not happy about it! I went in and Kenneth was so awesome! He took the time to figure out what happened and fixed the situation on the spot. It’s because of Kenneth and his great customer service that I will continue to use public storage. Thank you very much and keep up that excellent customer service you provide Kenneth! ?? ... I wanted to talk about a mediocre experience regarding my visit to this location today. I was treated like a trespasser by the manager on duty over a simple mistake (I was tailgating into the property behind her. People have done this to my husband and I many times and nobody said anything to them). She came out of her SUV wagging her finger at me like I was a pet misbehaving(it can be seen on camera) and when I told her that I have a gate code and a unit here, she was still talking down to me like I was a child. I found the experience very rude and disrespectful. She did point out the rules posted on the gate, but she could have approached the situation with professionalism (she didn't. At all). No customer should be treated this way over a mistake and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. ... Read more

I have always paid my bills on time. I first signed up on 7/2022 for their smallest unit, which was $30.00 monthly. A few months later, they bumped it up to $43.00, then months later, $52.00, then a few months later, $69. I “got lucky” because I complained, and they agreed not to increase it for at least three months. Now, next month? $91.00. That means a 300%+ increase in rent in less than two years. They can not even suggest that they do this to clients to up their stock price, which is down 18% since I rented. They are exploiting the fact that I have very personal items in the unit and am not currently in the state. Otherwise, I would take my stuff and go elsewhere. 300%+ increase in less than two years. Let that sink in for a minute, then ask yourself, can you trust this company? Going from paying $360.00 a year to over $1,000.00 is truly insane. It should be illegal for them to exploit renters like this, but when someone finally gets fed up and leaves, they just start the process all over again, exploit as long as they can, then rinse and repeat. Very nice people, really, so long as you do not mind getting screwed in the process. Stay clear of public storage. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 12710 Nacogdoches Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 12710 Nacogdoches Road start from $24 and can go up to $204 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
