Excellent service - above and beyond! Caitlin always looks out for us here at the facility. On two occasions I left my unit unsecured and she literally saved my business by securing it when I forgot. She always provides excellent advice on the best way to manage our units, and she is pleasant to work with. 100% recommend! ... Read more

Update, I appreciate Public Storage contacting me after I voiced my initial concerns. I think the company has really stepped up and addressed my concerns. The only thing is I wish they had a person in their office during normal business hours. Thanks Public Storage for addressing my concerns and doing upstanding business. Initial Review Very expensive and will bill you for unexpected reasons. ... Read more

I can’t say enough good things about this storage facility. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean, organized, and well-maintained everything was. You can tell this company takes pride in providing a top notch space for storing your belongings. What truly made my experience exceptional was Corina, one of the staff members. She was incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to help from the start. Whether I had questions about unit sizes, security features, or billing, she answered everything with patience and professionalism. Corina made the whole process smooth and stress free…something that’s rare to find these days. If you’re looking for a secure, spotless storage facility with outstanding customer service, look no further. Big thanks to Corina for going above and beyond! Edit 25JUNE2025 I had a great experience with Public Storage, and I want to give a special shout-out to Corina—easily one of the friendliest and most professional employees I’ve met. She went above and beyond to answer all my questions and made the whole process super smooth. The facility itself is extremely clean, well-lit, and secure—which gave me total peace of mind when storing my belongings. It’s clear that the staff here takes pride in keeping things in top shape. Highly recommend this location if you’re looking for safe, clean storage with amazing customer service. Thanks again, Corina! ... Read more

Fabulous, the man who works there is very cooperative, friendly and energized. He told me he was going took note that my unit had some very small dents on the door, almost nothing, and a small crack in the right-hand side board. It was a minor thing when I first arrived, but other than that, everything gave me a very good impression. Very clean, new, and organized. ... Read more

UPDATE: Thank you Jesse from Public Storage for calling me and offering to help me out with pricing for the next 2 months!! You know I got emotional as it was a shock of a relief considering the stress I've experienced. But it dovetailed stress in other areas regarding not only regarding my impending move. So all of that and then someone was actually interested and interested in helping. I respect it when people ask for what they want, as you did and as I do. We don't know if we don't ask, but be prepared 50/50 either way. So when I asked repeatedly at Extra Space I wasn't simply told no, I was disregarded considering in a desperate attempt to save money. They didn't own their own "mistake". I lost respect. I made the mistake of trusting ES & not remembering my rental coverage amount, or printing the policy before I arrived. I hope I helped some else avoid that company. Sidenote, until I returned my things just now to PS I had forgotten, there is an overhead light. Extra Space doesn't have lighting in the unit I had. :-) Removed 1 star for pricing. Initially I was angry that Public Storage took over Security Self Storage and quite honestly I think everything would have been fine had Public Storage not purchased this company/property; however the worst thing about public storage is their rapid & drastic price increases. Since this is a massive company it would makes sense to offer lower prices OR fewer dramatic FREQUENT increases than other storage facilities. BUT if you need storage go with THIS company. I have not been proven otherwise but in my experience this company has scruples, they're straight shooters, they're clear-cut, there are no surprises or misunderstandings. I believe their startup fees are less expensive than others but that can change at any moment so I could be wrong on that. Also, the employees are great in that they are trult professional in their demeanor, knowledge, and their attitudes even though they receive challenging treatment from customers. I've never been treated badly or disrespected at Public Storage. I used Public Storage in Houston too many years ago and NOTHING went wrong. Comparatively, I've had very negative experience with Extra Space Storage: they are crooked, the office staff will plead ignorance about insurance even though it's their job to understand that in the state of Texas if you have the renters insurance your belongings are covered off premises (away from your home). My insurance covers over $2000, Extra Space requires up to $2000 is covered. Extra Space Storage will make things blurry and say "Oh I don't know, are you sure it covers the amount we require." And of course while I was in their building suddenly my phone doesn't work and I can't fully pull up my policy on my phone to show them the next day business day when I talk to my insurance agent he was yelling at me because they had just stole the money from me and he said there breaking the law and they know they're breaking the law and this happens all the time. I'm losing 1 month of insurance and admin fees, getting money back for the first month & the lock - they force a cable style lock on you. Of course I had no idea they use that style of lock so I did not come with a cable lock but you cannot even sign up for storage space without the cable lock in hand. This "loss" is not as important to me getting away from liars and thieves, and essentially an abuse if piwer relationship. Make sure beforehand wherever you go you have the policy ready and no the coverage. AGAIN, IF YOU REALLY NEED STORAGE CHOOSE PUBLIC STORAGE. And be nice to employees. They make move outs easy too, unlike other storage companies. Why wouldn't they, right? Because they will continue to make money with new applications being processed and that's okay. I'm moving out because the cost is too high for me now, but where I am moving in a few months has storage large enough for me. If I ever am in need again I will return to Public Storage. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1130 Austin Hwy include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 490 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1130 Austin Hwy start from $43 and can go up to $380 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
