This storage facility presents some challenges in terms of navigation, and the presence of only two outdated elevators is notable. Having utilized three other Extra Space locations previously, I find this particular one to be the most perplexing experience thus far. ... Read more

I recently reached out with a commercial inquiry, and I can’t express how satisfied I am with the outcome. Naomi truly went above and beyond - thank you, Naomi! Your guidance was invaluable, especially when I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing. You were incredible to work with. It’s a relief knowing I have you as a point of contact - not just professionally, but personally as well, if ever needed. Outstanding service! ... Read more

Outstanding service here! I’ve used extra space storage for years when I lived in California and the service was never really good. Completely different at this one, my supplies are always delivered to my storage unit the day they arrive. Excellent and courteous staff here. ... Read more

We have been storing items at this Extra Space for one year. Initially, I would have said our experience was good - the staff were friendly and the monthly price was decent for an air conditioned indoor unit. However, when we went to move our items out, we found that a rat had somehow gotten into our air conditioned, indoor, second floor unit and chewed up our $4,000 sofa. The couch was not usable or sellable at this point. I was not concerned because I knew that I had been paying $25 per month for insurance to cover such damage for the entire term of our rental. When I submitted an insurance request for reimbursement for the damage, I was told the insurance did not cover such damage. In fact, I learned the insurance company disclaimed liability for almost all types of damage. I had paid $350 for insurance that covered nothing. When I tried to contact the insurance company to dispute this, no one would even return my phone call. A word to the wise, do not store nice furniture at this storage facility, and do not pay for the insurance - it is a scam. ... Read more

The Extra Space Storage facility at 1604 and Voight Drive is top notch. My storage room, the hallways, facility, and elevator are always extremely clean, and there are always carts available to use to move your belongings from your vehicle to your storage unit. Both managers I have met and dealt with are super friendly and helpful, and were great at answering all my questions. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this storage facility to all of my friends and family! ... Read more
Beth A. - 24 February 2025
Move in process is easy & at the time was the best deal I could find. The elevators are vintage, so every time you close the door to the elevator, a loud alarm sounds & I often covered my ears going up & down the elevator. They're replacing 1 of the broken elevators, so who knows how it will be when you go. Management is really awesome. If you get a chance, go inside to start your move in process or to move out. It's worth the human interaction. Great staff. ... Read more

The place was very clean, and I never worried about theft. The elevators were hit and miss, sometimes forcing us to either use the elevators on the other side of the building or call for help when stuck inside one. The front office folks are great. They came out quickly to help. Amy was especially helpful when I moved out. She went above and beyond in her customer service. She deserves high praise. My two reasons for moving are distance and increase in cost. The increases were significant — almost 50% of the current rate — and, the frequency in which they made these increases was a bit ridiculous— every 4-6 months. Unfortunately, all storage businesses operate the same. If these place would keep rent stable for at least a year, I would be more likely to accept a reasonable increase. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 202 North Loop 1604 West include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 350 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 202 North Loop 1604 West start from $16 and can go up to $317 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
