Read some helpful reviews of KO Storage at 1001 South L Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

GUYS. If you're considering renting here, don't get fooled. They offer half price move-in specials. My deal was half off for 2 months. The 3rd month, they doubled my rent. Ballsy move considering there is zero security, place is an absolute mess, many storage doors are falling apart & last, but not least, you have homeless people living in them. ... Read more

L Street Renter Not a happey camper at all, this is second review, first review the owner responded with someone would reach out to me, yeah here we are 10 days later no contact until I called today Monday Aug 25 to complain about the weeds in front of my unti- I'm 65 and on oxygen 24/7 and a walker, I stand 5'2" inches tall, the weeds in front of my unit are maybe 6 inches shorter than me, I can't even get the door open. Then I ask why I'm being charged more for a smaller unit than originally signed for, they said location....WHAT??? there are no fences, no gates. When I pulled in the other day, there was some dude sleeping in his car the next unit over. ... Read more

DO NOT RENT AT THIS LOCATION! I actually thought they were shut down because almost every single unit is open and looks trashed. KO Storage has a nicer one down the street, at 2215 W Florida. But this particular property they never visit. Like the other people said garage doors are ripped or cut open and there are holes in the walls between units. Management should pay it a visit and they would advise people not to rent from that location either. ... Read more

I don’t even want to give this place a star! It’s horrible. Storages where broken into and random things where left out. The site said the place was gated and it’s not. It also detailed it had cameras but I’m not sure if they work. I don’t think my belongings were safe there so I didn’t even drop them off. Not worth a penny. ... Read more

I had rented a storage for many years, and was fine until new owners took over anlittle over a year ago I believe, they never maintain the property. They removed gates that were not the best but they stopped people from driving in an ripping doors off units and stealing and just destroying property, the units started looking like a war zone with all the doors ripped off and property everywhere. When they finally broke into my unit and made it hard for us to go in and make an inventory of our property it took a month just to get a door company to finally fix it just to be able to get in and I had to meet with the repair guys as the property Mgr is not here and did not see all repairs still had a lock on one door that was unusable. When I finally left in January 1st of the month they still are trying to bill even when I have a email confirmation. New management or property Mgr here is not maintaining the property. Cameras were just put in after this break in no lights on alot of the areas making it pitch black and easy for thieves and no gates to restrict late night traffic would definitely not recommend this unit. Sad thing is there is another storage unit maintained by another company a block away no gates and with lighting theirs do not look like this no doors ripped off and does not look like a warzone. ... Horrible!!! rented a unit and when I got there, there were homeless people living in them. Doors were busted open. And, when I went to my unit, there was a lock on it already. I was sent to over 21 different units. All were locked. Apparently, anyone can roll up and use them. Place needs to be shut down. Still haven't got my refund. ... Read more

These are the sketchiest storage units I've ever seen. I rented on Friday, went Sunday to put my belongings in, saw the place then called and canceled that Monday. Almost every unit was broken into, there was TRASH and people's belongings EVERYWHERE. The units that weren't completely open all had giant dents and holes in the doors like people had been trying to bust in. The security cameras were all busted. There is also no move-out option on their website. They require you to purchase a monthly insurance, and I now see why. STAY AWAY. The cost is just not worth it!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at KO Storage - 1001 South L Street include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
