Super disappointing. I tried renting their biggest storage unit for my boat. I set it up online to be able to take my boat the next day. Unfortunately it didn’t fit. We tried to see if it would fit better in one other unit, but it didn’t. The office ladies were nice and tried to help. But were unable to refund my money for the unit. They said I would have to talk to their boss. Well, I left multiple VMs for said person and never got a call back. Everytime i spoke with customer service they were able to pull up my notes from my previous calls to see that I was calling about the refund since I wasn’t able to use the unit. After 4 months, I finally called my bank and disputed the charge. About a month after that, I received a call from their collections department. I explained the situation to her and she apologized. Wrote some notes on my behalf and I never heard from them again. Until I received a letter in the mail saying it had gone to collections. Now a month after that, I’m getting a text every week saying I have a balance on my account and if I “just click here” I can get it taken care of. Super disappointing, as I was never even able to use the unit and I have a balance of $169. And still haven’t gotten a returned phone call from the said person that should have been able to resolve this. ... Read more

Update August 8th 2025: another increase 2 months ago. it is cheaper for me to get an online acct and pay less than 200 per month vs the rate im at now of 371 with a 75 late fee (that's crazy). so im punished for being a long term customer and having a clean unit and someone that will be new and throw who knows what gets a cheaper rate than me is insane. Update June 26th 2024: After another increase, this is getting to the point of price gouging. My bill went from 238 to 269. Even rental leases for commercial properties only adds a 3% increase yearly. this is surpassing 13%. Add the fact that they still have rat issues. THE WORST PART IS THAT THEY INCREASED TWICE WITHIN A YEAR. FROM 204 LAST YEAR IN MAY 2023, TO 238 IN OCTOBER 2023, TO 269 IN JUNE 2024. FROM 204 TO 269 IS 30% INCREASE. if you pay 1500 for rent, at that price you are paying nearly a mortgage with a 2 car garage for 1700 if you had good credit. but $200 for a unit that isnt even a 2 car size, absurd. Update April 4th 2023: Due to the economic price changes, im assuming this corporation wants you to buy an EXTRA insurance for storing here so they canncover themselves or add an additional increase jn profits. in case nobody knows, this corporation, Storage King, bought out A LOT of small and big storage unit locations around the DFW and increased their prices by almost 50% and now this charge. it used to be cheap and reasonably priced. still waiting for my suitcases to be paid for since they were ruined. Update March 13 2022: Uploaded more pictures of the rat problem. I am disgusted by this issue. Just because they are small rats, doesnt mean this HUGE CORPORATION cant spend money on proper rodent treatment. The problem with rats is that they carry a fatal disease in their excrement, (feces and urine) and if touched and somehow gets into your body, the chances of you surviving are a 40-50%. Also, if you disturb the feces or urine and it becomes airborne, you are also likely to get it. ITS NOT A JOKE! FOR PAYING 130, despite being a long time customer, somehow you still get charged the same as new customers. If I see more rat feces on my stuff, which has already ruined 5 suitcases, i will take this to small claims. Old Review: Aside from the few rodent issues, it wasnt a bad place when it was GT storage. Now its storage King and things have turned out a bit worse than i expected. The rodent issue seems to be ongoing but the rent is going up. from $90 to $133. why? i dont know. if the inflation is correct, the rate shouldve gone to $98, lets say $100 at the most. a quick math and they added a $7,500 a month income minimum on just the bigger sizes just by raising this amount. im not including the enclosed ones. they expect you to pay this right away? change is in april for me so thats a month away. I get there arent many storage spots but wow, thats crazy. kinda want to open up my own storage and do this. even if others are pricey, why do they want to charge that much higher without a few months of notice? see pictures for amount of rodent droppings that have ruined my suitcases. note: i do a lot of different businesses in different industries. for passive income, this is crazy. ... Theresa and the whole staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional from start to finish with my rental. Always willing to offer assistance of any kind. Prices were great, too. I didn’t experience the pushy used car salesman type of mentality like I did with the other well known companies when inquiring about a storage unit. Love there is an onsite manager 24/7 on this property. Facility is well maintained and clean. Highly recommend this company and location. Definitely will use this specific storage location again the next time I need to do so again. ... Read more

Storage King should be called Storage for RATS!! I been at this facility when it was Cube smart and it was outstanding and very very clean. And then it became Storage 365 it went downhill somewhat it wasn't as clean as use to be. But SOON AS Storage king( rats) purchased the facility it became horrible a disaster the floors in the facility was just nasty the rats infestation is real and they kept going up on rental prices and not addressing their rat problems. On in the meantime while they are hosing you on rental prices that goes up seems like every 6 months you probably get your unit broken in to and the so call insurance that you pay for is a joke!!! They want recipes of everything stolen !! Who is going to have recipes from 3 or 4 years ago!! This place is a joke! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 942 East I-30 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 350 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 942 East I-30 start from $12 and can go up to $214 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
