Very clean, well maintained place. The text activated gate is a very nice feature. I rented a 10x10 unit. It was very clean, has a light inside which is nice. The place looks brand new! I rented my unit for one year and had ZERO issues here. I highly recommend and will use them in the future. ... Read more

Storage unit nightmare! This is a “small business place” HOWEVER, their interest is their pockets not your belongings. This is my experience with them. Longhorn got broken into and unit doors were badly damaged. We were told they were going to fix the doors but Instead the owner chose to do a temporary fix by reshaping the unit doors back into place(similar to reshaping a coke can). If we had been told this was their idea of “fixing” we would’ve taken our business elsewhere. Instead, they gladly collected their money and lead us to believe all would be fine. We trusted them because “small business” right? Our unit had a big opening on the side and of-course rodents got in. Our entire house we had in the unit was completely destroyed! It was Infested with rodent urine and feces! The smell was of a dead animal. After a few minutes being in the unit caused us to get headaches, it became hazardous to be in the unit let alone touch anything. My heart was shattered. Several units looked like ours so I’m sure rodents got in several. After dealing with the owner and the owner offering a 400.00 reimbursement but then stating, “Oh, my partners actually said not to offer you anything”. What happened here was pure negligence, bad decision making, bad business! They happily collected 230.00 ea. Month from my acct. and continued past this point. Materialistic items are replaceable but I lost my babies keepsakes, this, I will never be able to replace and their response to all of this was as sorry as their ability to maintain a storage unit. ... Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 40 to 700 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Longhorn State Storage - 11700 Jacksboro Hwy start from $85 and can go up to $495 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
