I love the fact that everything was done online. I was in Wisconsin and did all the process online. I got here and my storage was ready for me. We communicated online and didn't have to go in in person. The process was easy and painless. I would definitely rent from them again. ... Read more

Too expensive strongly advise against leasing storage units at this location due to a combination of serious issues that make it both unsafe and financially unreasonable. First and foremost, flooding is a recurring problem. Despite multiple complaints and visible damage, the landlords have failed to implement any meaningful preventative measures. Stored items are constantly at risk, and tenants are left to deal with the aftermath without support or compensation. Secondly, the rent prices are unjustifiably high given the poor conditions. It's frustrating to pay premium rates for a facility that doesn't offer basic protections or reliable service. There’s no transparency in pricing, and rent increases happen without proper notice or justification. Lastly, the landlord's irresponsibility is a major concern. Communication is nearly impossible, maintenance requests are ignored, and there's a general lack of accountability. Tenants are treated as an afterthought, and it’s clear that profit is prioritized over safety and service. In summary, this storage facility is not worth the risk or the cost. Until management takes serious steps to address flooding, pricing, and tenant concerns, I recommend looking elsewhere for a more secure and professionally managed option. ... Read more

I moved to Fort Bliss, and I used this service to store my belongings while I was seeking permanent residence. The location is accessible from multiple directions and easy to exit, without the need for detours, on the way to and from Fort Bliss. Pros: - Kind and professional staff. - Good condition lot with more than enough space for 2 trucks to pass. Can easily just drive up next to the unit. - Competitive price, esp. with military promotion. - Didn't need excessive/special paperwork to sign up. I just showed up with what I had unpacked from moving. - Was able to check out through just a casual e-mail request after vacating the unit. - Gate hours were convenient enough for me to come after work to grab my stuff (7 PM most days), and I was able to get out past 7 PM as it took a while to load my stuff. Cons: - I don't think the gate system recognizes bikes trying to exit. I felt like I was stuck trying to get out after just picking select items out. - They're nearly sold out, so finding vacancies might be a matter of luck. - If you move out early in the month, their contract states that they don't refund for the remainder. Other: - They prorate the first month and then seemingly charge for the upcoming month about 4 days prior to the 1st of that month. - I just used a keyed padlock I had on hand, which they said was fine. ... I reserved from out of state, came in to town and couldn't get the price I reserved for. Then I found a house before I needed it and before my date to start contract, so went in for a refund and to cancel. Couldn't get a refund even after not using at all and days before contract started. I guess they're hurting for money. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Star - 7920 Dyer Street start from $130 and can go up to $422 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
