Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1321 West 5th Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I have never been treated so poorly by a business. I explained that I was moving under urgent and difficult circumstances late at night. I was assigned a storage unit accessible only by three flights of stairs, in freezing weather, in a dark area by the train tracks, with no staff on site and little consideration for my personal safety or accessibility. I later learned that staff were aware the elevator had been out of service for weeks. This was never disclosed to me at the time of assignment, and there was no estimated timeline for when it would be repaired. The next morning, I was in significant pain. I have had a sciatica condition for five years, and after this move I could barely walk. A staff member called asking how this could be made right, and I explained that waiving the charge would allow me to move my belongings to a safer, accessible unit and hire help, which I now require. I was told someone would follow up. No one ever did. This situation was foreseeable, preventable, and handled with a complete lack of care. I would not recommend this business to anyone. ... The elevator has been broken here for at least a year. My parents, who are in their 70s, have things in storage on the third floor that they are unable to clean out because they can’t use the elevator. My dad has called and complained and they said “we can’t get the parts“ this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. ... Read more

Mariaaaaa, MaRiiiaaaaaaaa She reminds me of a west side storrryyyyyyy! This manager is best I’ve ever come across. Courteous, friendly, kind, curious, helpful. This review is long overdue as I meant to post it after returning from my summer travels. I only had a locker storage that actually fit quite a bit! Id says 3-4 XL suitcases, btw. And Maria was just the bees knees. I’d go back just because of her and our delightful chats. When I need storage again, you betcha it will be this west side location because of her! Happy New Year, Maria! ... Read more

Maria was absolutely spectacular! We needed to process a transfer of billing responsibility on a storage unit and couldn't find the information we needed to complete the process online. We popped by the location and Maria was not only incredibly informed, but tremendously helpful and knocked this out for me quickly! I'm so appreciative for the service I received ~ Maria deserves a promotion! Appeciate y'all ... Read more

Thank you for the help Mary! Very professional and helpful. Mary, I appreciate how you explained the different level of insurance and showed around the grounds. We did end up selecting a larger unit in order to fit all of our stuff and without your help we would have made a mistake. Mary has done an excellent job and I really appreciate all of her help! ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1321 West 5th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 12 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1321 West 5th Street start from $32 and can go up to $318 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
