There's a mandatory $12 "Smart Unit Service" fee every month. Like if it's mandatory for every unit then include it in the monthly price?? Instead they hide it from their advertised rates and only show it when you put in your payment method. ... Read more

I had a wonderful experience with ATX Self Storage, thanks to Paula and Howard. Their friendliness made the process easy, but what stood out most was their transparency. They take the time to explain everything clearly so you know exactly what you’re getting into, and it’s obvious they genuinely want to help. It was refreshing to work with people who care about their customers and not just making a sale. Highly recommend. ... Read more

I just rented a large unit here and am very impressed with how well run and secure this business is. This might be the safest property in the entire city. It's clean, easy to access, and managed by a charming couple who are very nice and professional. Feels like a local business should. Very glad I chose this place to keep my property. ... Read more

I’m giving this storage in Austin, Tx a one star because my sister had called ahead of time we were needing storage for our father whom we are power of attorney. She spoke to a gentleman so whenever I walked into the facility, I asked for The same employee. There was a lady on the phone and she looked eager to get in the middle of our business. I told her we were fine that This gentleman was helping me and we didn’t need any assistance from her. The gentleman didn’t listen to me and took me upstairs after I told him I wanted a lower level storage. Then after you took me upstairs, I explained again I need a lower level storage. We went right back downstairs Where he finally showed me what I had asked for the lower level.. I was ready to make the deal when he said that I needed the power of attorney papers. I live out of town.I should have realized that I needed those papers before I went over there. And also It would have been helpful if he Would have prompted my sister to let us know that we needed power of attorney papers, but neither one of us thought about it. After I drove over there for no reason, of course, I was upset because my time is valuable. I’m dealing with an upper respiratory infection and have to take some medication that makes me irritable.I’m only in town for a few days. My time is very valuable and I’m very busy. I was trying to take care of this business. Upon opening up a storage unit in My father‘s name so it makes sense I needed to show proof. I told the gentleman Employee okay makes sense, I would go to the nursing home to get a copy the power of attorney papers and return. (I realize after I left that I had a copy of it in my files on my phone ). While I was gathering on my wallet and sunglasses to put back in my purse to be on my way…. all of a sudden, the woman employee that was not assigned to helping me decides to get in the middle of our business. She starts Insulting my intelligence by telling me the same thing that the man had just told me. Her Mentality to be noticed and wanting to be important irritated me. I raised my voice to tell her that I was going to get the paperwork. While I was talking, she was over speaking me.She did not like it that I was not going to listen to The same verbiage That her male associate who was helping me, had just explained to me. No one asked her for her input or help. In fact, I had already told her previously that this gentleman was helping me and we did not need her assistance. She had no business to interrupt her Coworker and myself the customer while he was helping me. So then she Attempted aTHIRD Time to get in the middle of our Conversation and transaction. I told this the persistent woman that I did not want to hear what she had to say a third time. I had to use a loud tone because she was not getting the message. She was not the one helping me her colleague was. This woman was very adamant about being seen and heard by trying to run over me and her colleague who was helping me. When I told her I didn’t want to hear it….she became angry that she was unable to control me and her colleague-business transaction. She told me to get out of the facility and not come back. I told her that was fine that it doesn’t bother me at all. I can give my business to some other business. She threw away over $1000 all because she wanted to control me and her coworker. She lost $1000 for her company all because she thought that she had to seem important and run over her coworker and the customer. All she had to do in the first place was to mind your own business and stay out of our business. I was already being helped and I explained that to her when I first walked in. He and I were talking she interrupted us. I told her that we were fine. He’s helping me. She couldn’t stand it that she could not be the center of attention. And she lost over $1000 for her company all because she wanted to be the center of attention. ... Read more

This secure, climate controlled, clean, and aesthetically pleasing high-tech storage facility really is great. Howard and Paula are outstanding managers. They consistently provide friendly, efficient, and competent customer service. Since 2020, I have rented here and recently upgraded to a larger unit; the process was a breeze. Note: Check out the new in-unit motion detectors. These link to cell phones of customers to facilitate -- if need be -- prompt notification of any usual activity to the managers, who reside on site. Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at ATX Self Storage - 6901 North I - 35 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
