I've lived here for almost 29 years. What I like most about it here are the friendly neighbors and the walkways which are rich in vegetation. I would recommend living here also due to it being in close proximity to the beach (2 miles) as well as walking distance to Virginia Park, the public library in Virginia Park, and close to public transit as well as markets and nearby tree canopied streets.

The complex is a beautiful older setting...so we have winding walkways/landscaping and a style that is NOT Square Cardboard Box like newer buildings. However, the resident manager is more of an assistant to the regional property manager and manages other buildings as well. As a result, tenants are encouraged to handle most problems themselves, or, contact the property supervisor (or main office). I do not consider this a resident manager. As a result several things that relate to the property are no longer handled for lack of time: in between weekly gardeners, no one walks the property anymore for trash that has accumulated primarily by passersby, and since my unit faces the street, I have the distinct pleasure of seeing most of this, along with other units in similar outside buildings! Also, many requests for certain maintenance needs go unheeded (while, others are handled super quickly, I never get an answer to the following: 1) my bathroom has no window so is required by law to have a vent or fan...the one in my unit is as old as the building, very loud and spews 50+ years of dust, grime when on, and cannot fully extract humidity from the air when using the shower because of this, which is it's primary function; 2) my unit, again, is the only one without a garbage disposal since there is no electrical outlet that was put in below the counter...as a result, I now have to make 2-3 trips weekly to the other side of property to empty my compost materials since I have no other way to dispose of those that a garbage disposal should do, like all the other units here do; 3) landscaping directly across from my unit has been ignored since I have lived here and amid the disgusting bushes that are used, it is mostly dirt....several homeless people have used the space to sleep/nap in as a result; 4) insufficient storage in garage area, causes clutter in my unit as I do not have a patio as other units do. 5) Noisy building due to no insulation between units.
