Changing and dealing with Parkade is ridiculously painful. Most everything else is great

On going noise disturbances and second hand smoke exposure resulting in interupted sleep, canceled video calls( due to noise) and migraines from smoke. Despite multiple staff visiting my unit to confirm noise disturbances and smoke issues persist. As a tentant i feel helpless and stuck. Ive endure these issues literally since move in date june 1st. California has a second hand smoke regulations which tentants here do not adhere to. My quality of life is altered living here and for that reason i have pleaded with alwell to adress these issues. Good luck if you decide to move here!

Before signing my lease at this apartment, I was not informed that I would need to pay for parking. I moved here under the impression that parking—especially a handicap space—would be included with my unit. This was a key factor in choosing this apartment over other options that had lower rent and more transparent policies. As someone with accessibility needs and have my finances in place didn't need surprises of any extra costs and added rules to a newly signed lease. Unfortunately, I was surprised to learn after moving in that there was an additional fee, which was never mentioned during the leasing process. If I had known this upfront, I likely would have made a different choice. It’s frustrating and disappointing to feel misled. On top of that, I walked outside one day to find a sticker on my car stating I was parked in an “assigned” parking space—something I was never told or shown documentation for. That left me confused, because it wasn’t true. I hadn’t been assigned any space, nor had I agreed to one. I’ve also looked into California state and local laws, and while there may not be a mandate requiring free handicap parking for residents, that doesn’t mean this should be standard practice. Accessible parking is a necessity, not an extra, and it should be treated as such. I’m sharing this review so others can make fully informed decisions before signing a lease here. The community itself is nice, but the lack of transparency around parking and accessibility has made my living experience more frustrating and expensive than expected.
