Just 43 miles south of Salt Lake City, among the mountains sits Provo, UT. The city was recently ranked by Forbes as one of the Best Small and Medium Size Cities for Jobs. It has continuously been credited for fast job growth, business, and a healthy environment. As a hot area for technology, home to several billion dollar startups, and the second city to get Google Fiber, Provo is growing at an impressive rate and we have the photos to prove it.

1. Utah Valley Convention Center – Provo Central Business District

Year Completed: 2012

The new Utah Valley Convention Center building brings together traditional architecture elements, a clock tower, and the use of modern glass and steel. In the rear is the Timpanogos Terrace outdoor event space which is commonly used for weddings and dinner parties, and boasts spectacular views of the mountains.

2. Nu Skin – Provo Central Business District

Year Completed: 2014

The Nu Skin Pavilion at the company’s global headquarters in Provo is just down the street along Freedom Blvd. from the new Utah Valley Convention Center. As the final stage of a $100M development investment, the pavilion presents an amazing work of real estate art, which is simultaneously modern and stylish, and perfectly blends into the natural surroundings.

3. Zions Bank Financial Center – Provo Central Business District

Year Completed: 2010

The Zions Bank Financial Center sits on N. University Ave., just steps from the Sego Art Center and Social Security Administration buildings. Rising setbacks and a blend of stone and red brick gives the building an almost pyramid type look. Notice the well-manicured exterior with street clocks and lamps, grass, and the mountains on the horizon.

4. Central Bank Provo – Provo Central Business District

Year Completed: 2014

Central Bank in downtown Provo takes up a significant footprint of prime real estate space along University Ave. The traditional architecture features the type of stone work and overhangs you’d expect to find in New York City. Exterior lighting helps to hold on to the historic look, despite being in the shadow of two very sizable modern buildings behind it.

5. Sixty Three Center – Provo Central Business District

Year Completed: 2010

Developed by Forge Companies, Sixty Three Center utilizes a mix of stone and glass which is modern, unique, and nostalgic. The 6-floor mixed-use property hosts retail space on the first floor, with 41 loft-style apartments above. Tenants include local workers as well as being a source of Utah off-campus housing for university students.

6. BYU Laundry – Wasatch

Year Completed: 2015

The new Brigham Young University laundry and maintenance building features classic brick, with a few modern design elements for a highly functional yet solid structure. The complex offers laundry, dry cleaning, and clothing alterations for singles and families housed on campus, and students at the Missionary Training Center. Awarded the 2015 Excellence in Masonry Design by Merit.

7. Heritage Halls – University

Year Completed: 2014

Heritage Halls is one of BYU’s newer on-site student housing facilities. Units offer the choice of 2 and 3 shared bedroom furnished apartments. The construction combines traditional brick and stone with unique window shapes. Despite the view in the images BYU’s on-campus housing website says there is no on-site or close by parking for student residents.

8. Legacy Village of Provo – Crystal City

Year Completed: 2015

Legacy Village of Provo is a senior assisted-living and memory care facility. The low rise structure blends red brick, white accents and columns, and the use of metal roofing accents. Located on University Ave., Legacy Village is close to The Shops at Riverside, medical centers and hospitals, and outdoor parks, as well as the universities.

9. Blue Rock Surgical Center – Edgemont

Year Completed: 2011

Blue Rock Surgical Center offers a unique use of light colored stone on the Provo landscape. The building houses an imaging center with MRI, X-ray, and mammography services, family practice, and affordable walk-in urgent care facility. The building blends in well with the mountain backdrop, and the neighboring strip shopping mall.

10. Brigham Young University Office of Information Technology – Carterville

Year Completed: 2009

BYU’s hyper modern looking new office of information technology skillfully blends new architectural styles, the natural environment, and represents its function in its exterior form. The addition to BYU took 18 months, and over $10M to complete. Its 3 stories house offices, meeting rooms, shops, kitchen areas, and sound engineering rooms, across over 80,000 square feet.
