Beautiful weather year-round, countless outdoor activities, top-rated golf courses, family-friendly neighborhoods, affordable cost of living and the largest public school district in the state of Arizona. You can find all of these in Mesa, Arizona‘s third-largest city and a popular spot among young professionals and families looking to relocate from Phoenix and other large cities.

Its beautiful desert scenery, as well as the perfect natural settings for biking, rafting, kayaking, hiking, boating, fishing, climbing (Usery Mountain Regional Park is a must!) make it a top choice for active renters. Plus, this urban dense location sprawling north of the Sonoran Desert boasts no less than 25 golf courses, some of which are top-rated or even award-winning facilities.

If you’re thinking of moving to this vibrant place and are looking for apartments for rent in Mesa while also being mindful of your budget, we picked some of the most affordable neighborhoods in the city:

Arboleda

This suburban area, located in the northern part of Mesa, has a mix of single-family homes, apartment communities, schools, parks, restaurants and shopping venues. With a population of more than 29,000, Arboleda is a newer part of Mesa, with most of its homes and apartments built in the last two decades. Its proximity to Mesa’s vibrant and upbeat downtown area makes it suitable for renters who enjoy all the amenities and perks of big city life.

Desert Air

This neighborhood, located just south of Las Sendas, has more single-family properties than apartments and most of the homes were built between 1970 and 1999. Desert Air is a great place for renters raising children. This quiet, family-friendly area includes several schools and easy access to hiking and biking trails for nature lovers and active renters.
