Get moving, Philadelphia!

Moving is an adventure, help is always welcomePhiladelphia is one of the oldest cities in the United States. It was built when people didn’t need huge armoires on the top floor, or as many belongings as today. And they didn’t move as often as nowadays. How many times have you moved in the last five years? What is your strategy when moving?

During my student years I had my friends help me with the move. I’ve learned all there is to learn about packing – cardboard boxes, plastic bags, tape and markers, they’ve all been useful tools I’m happy to not use anymore. After the school was over, I again needed to move, and instead of cajoling my friends into helping me, I decided to call in the professionals. I’m so happy I did! It was an experience I will definitely repeat, it’s great to give directions and watch things being done without you moving a muscle, without fear that with your luck you’ll bump into things and destroy valuable objects (they offer insurance).

Here are some companies used by Philadelphians; the staff at all three is very skillful and experienced and will carry your things in different sized trucks, to match the volume of things you want to move and the width of the street you live or plan on living on. Usually they charge by the hour, with two-three hours minimum, and work outside of the city also.

MAMBO Movers – with the headquarters at 1205 South 15th Street, they are not the regular kind of movers. In the best possible way – these guys are artists who needed jobs and never left. They make this moving process entertaining, fast and fun.

SafeGuard Moving Co.10733 Pele Circle or call Rob at 215-821-8547. They move everything, even pianos!

Go Go Philly Movers – 1932 West Girard Avenue, a family owned business that puts value on your belongings staying fair to the market prices; they offer from small 1 hour minimum furniture moving to office and full-sized house moving.
