Atlanta Proves It’s a Major City with Stunning Skyscrapers That Bring the Skyline to Life

Atlanta is a true Southern city, historically known for its part in the Civil War. Over the years, the most populous town in Georgia has become known as a hub of activity. Not only is it the home of CNN, but it has the global headquarters for The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, and AT&T Mobility, among others. The city is also brimming with construction activity, with many new impressive buildings – from boutique hotels and amenity-rich, mixed-use developments to stunning condo and rental towers – popping up across the skyline.
To demonstrate Atlanta‘s dramatic transformation, we compiled a series of Street View pictures contrasting the city’s skyline of eight years ago against the way it looks today. Below are 10 of the most notable changes.
1. The Atlantic, BB&T – Atlantic Station
In the background is The Atlantic, a luxury condo and apartment high-rise with an art deco design. The 46-story tower contains 401 suites for residential use up to 3,172 sq ft. In the foreground is the Atlantic Station branch of BB&T Bank, a 25-story skyscraper that opened in 2009. Both buildings have significantly improved the Atlantic Station neighborhood, which was once home to a steel plant.
