Cool storage for that tiny studio kitchen

kitchen cartoonFor most, the kitchen is where we spend a pretty good amount of our daily lives.  Especially while entertaining – I can’t think of a time the conversation hasn’t eventually ended up in the kitchen!  Maximizing the most space in these areas is a pretty big deal so here are a few tips to make the area you do have work for you:

Swing from the Ceiling

Not only are Ceiling Kitchen Racks just plain cool looking they are really functional in a small kitchen space.  Hanging one of these in the center of the room or above the island in the kitchen is ideal if you have enough headroom. Measure the space above your refrigerator or above the sink where someone is least likely to knock their head on dangling pans.  These are a great investment and don’t cost too much. I found some nice ones at Target and Sears.com.

Use Canisters, Baskets and Boxes for Countertop Storage

Funky counter organizers can be priceless. These nifty helpers will work to personalize your kitchen while keeping it clutter-free and making you look oh-so-organized.  It’s easy enough to sweep these containers off the counter and hide them in the closet to make you look really tidy.

Use the Walls

If you’re able to put a few holes in the wall you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this as much as possible.  Hang extra shelving if you have ample wall space to stack your nice glasses or other items decorative enough for display.  Hang a few hooks for your kitchen towels and potholders rather than taking up valuable drawer space.

Think Vertically

You know when you look in your cabinets there is all that extra space between the various levels? Why not take full advantage and add a few shelves of your own.  By organizing your cabinets with Level Stand Organizers you’ll be able to better optimize that cabinet space while also keeping the cabinet organized.

The key to having a functional kitchen space is being able to keep it tidy and having a designated spot for everything.  The tinier the kitchen, the more important it is to have a well thought out organization plan.  Now let’s get cooking!
