This neighborhood, located just south of Las Sendas, has more single-family properties than apartments and most of the homes were built between 1970 and 1999. Desert Air is a great place for renters raising children. This quiet, family-friendly area includes several schools and easy access to hiking and biking trails for nature lovers and active renters.

Las Sendas

Nestled between Red Mountain Freeway and Usery Mountain Regional Park, the vibrant Las Sendas occupies the northeastern corner of Mesa. This popular neighborhood boasts amazing views and a world-class, award-winning golf course — plus, it’s close to natural parks. As all of northeast Mesa, Las Sendas is very bike-friendly. Unlike other suburban neighborhoods nearby, Las Sendas does offer some shopping options.

Mesa Grande

One of Mesa’s top-rated neighborhoods, Mesa Grande occupies the northwest corner of the city, just south of Salt River. The Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Hohokam Stadium are two of the main attractions in the area. Sports enthusiasts also appreciate Riverview Park, which reopened in 2014 after a major renovation. It now includes Sloan Park, Chicago Cubs’ spring training facility, as well as numerous public recreation facilities.

Alta Mesa

Alta Mesa is located in the eastern part of Mesa, bordered by Salt River to the northwest and Mesa Greenbelt City Park to the south. This quiet and safe residential neighborhood is home to several golf courses, including the vast Alta Mesa Golf Club, Longbow Golf Club and Red Mountain Ranch Country Club. The suburban oasis includes a mix of homes and apartments for rent as well as gated enclaves with luxury homes. Active renters appreciate Alta Mesa’s easy access to scenic hiking trails and its 35-acre desert bike park.
