The Best Deals on Rent: Affordable Apartments in Indianapolis

Share this article:

The coin always has two sides. While property managers surely wouldn’t mind seeing a speedier pace, Indianapolis renters have every reason to be glad that the city lags behind most of the nation’s metropolitan areas in terms of rent growth. The US average rent is currently $1,204, and Yardi Matrix tells us that in Indianapolis it is $780. Which is great, if you’re looking for your next place to call home! We were sure, though, that we could do even better—without sacrificing quality. And indeed, we found dozens of affordable apartments in Indianapolis. All that’s left is to choose one. And be warned, that’s going to be tough…

To make it easier, here’s a selection of five low-cost Indianapolis apartments that caught our eyes:

Waterstone Place ApartmentsSheffield Woods — rents starting at $479 — Check availability

Waterstone Place Apartments

Generous floor plans, affordable rents—what more can one want from an apartment community? Good accessibility, maybe? Perhaps a serene lake? This Sheffield Woods property has got you covered with one-bed, one-bath and three-bed, two-bath units, and just about everything in between.

Arlington GreenWindsor Village — rents starting at $499 — Check availability

Arlington Green Apartments Indianapolis

Want something closer to downtown? Arlington Green may be worth considering. The apartments range in size from 600 to 685 square feet and feature hardwood floors and air conditioning. The common-space amenities include plenty of parking spaces and laundry facilities, and all this for a very pocket-friendly monthly rent. Interested yet?

Lake Marina ApartmentsTrinity Manor — rents starting at $509 — Check availability

Lake Marina Apartments

The welcoming atmosphere of Lake Marina Apartments in Trinity Manor would lead many to think it that it surely asks some hefty rents. Guess what! It doesn’t! Even the largest, three-bedroom, three bathroom apartment costs less than the average monthly rent in Indianapolis. Much like Waterston Place, this one also boasts a nice lake.

Cambridge Square North ICrooked Creek — rents starting at $539 — Check availability

Cambridge Square North

Offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom garden-style apartments and townhomes, Cambridge Square North Apartments is located on the Northwest side of the city. The units are equipped with so much more than it is expected at this price! You get a garden patio, huge closets and garbage disposal, just to name a few—again, under the metros average rent.

Teal RunHeather Hills — rents starting at $627 — Check availability

Teal Run

It is true, Teal Run is the most expensive community on our list, although expensive is still not the word that springs to mind. Value for money sounds more appropriate, because you probably get the most bang for your buck at this Heather Hills community. Enumerating all the amenities you get for this price would completely mess up the proportions of this article, but feel free to take a tour to see them all for yourself!

This was just a narrow selection, but make sure to take a look at RentCafe for the full experience as we have low-cost rentals all over Indianapolis, catering for all tastes and budgets.
