First look – how a micro-apartment is organized

The micros are coming! The micros are coming!

San Francisco will have some of the city’s first miniature apartment homes on the market later this year, and there’s no doubt that they’ll be popular with the minimalist crowd – folks who really just need a place to sleep at night, don’t want to display or store many possessions, and probably don’t have a problem with claustrophobia.

These photos of a sample mini unit from Patrick Kennedy and Zeta Communities are 300 square feet with high ceilings to maximize a feeling of spaciousness. They are pre-fabricated builds that will be located in a building at 38 Harriet Street, South of Market. It’s a 23 unit project. The units are scheduled to be completed sometime in October.

Would you want to live in an apartment this small?
