The best ASU downtown apartments

Arizona State University has officially outgrown its Tempe location.  They’ve been building upwards, renovating old buildings, and squeezing in new buildings anywhere possible in their few square miles owned in Tempe.  The popularity of their various campuses outside of their traditional location has skyrocketed with so many of their schools moving out of Tempe to take advantage of more space and better facilities than the old school campus can offer.  The Polytechnic campus in Mesa, the West campus in Glendale, and their newest Downtown campus are no longer an awkward jumbled mess of offsite buildings. These campuses have become communities entirely their own and have relinquished their status as an annoying commute for Tempe students.

The Arizona State University Downtown campus (known as ASUD) has completely changed the look and feel of the Downtown Phoenix area.  Gorgeous apartment complexes have risen as the state-of-the-art, ultra modern ASUD campus opened its doors just a few years ago.  ASU offers absolutely stunning student housing at their Taylor Place Student Housing building.  It’s equipped with everything a resident could possibly need, including that intrusive oversight of administration and dorm-life annoyances. Living off campus, but just as close as their campus housing is definitely an option worth considering downtown.

The Roosevelt Square Apartments are the top choice of ASUD student apartment renters. It is just across the street from the ASUD campus, well maintained, safe, and close to the light rail.  Roosevelt Square has all the amenities you could want and is pet friendly as well.  They have everything from studio apartments, which are fairly hard to find in Phoenix, all the way to two bedroom-two baths, loft units.  Pricing ranges from around $830 to about $1,500 per month.

The Met is the pinnacle in luxury apartment living.  If fully upgraded units, the option to rent furnished, and only the best amenities are what you have in mind, then this is the right place for you.  It is located just a couple of blocks south of the ASUD campus, but is definitely within walking distance and student friendly.  The Met offers a studio apartment all the way to a dual-master apartment unit. Pricing ranges from around $800 to $1,200.

With the added convenience of the light rail providing a 15-minute commute from the Downtown campus to the Tempe campus, living downtown just makes sense for a lot of ASU students. Why not live in the midst of the up and coming downtown neighborhood, live in a sparkling new apartment unit at fairly reasonable prices, and avoid paying for a Tempe parking pass? There are definite savings here to be considered!
