Coming Up

Six and a half months in & the first 4 months were horrid. It seemed like MSR was under constant staff changes in the office, security issues with outside gates/doors and especially the garage door were not getting attended to in a timely manner. Over the last 2 months, it is evident that maintenance is on point, locks have been changed and there has not seemed to have been an issue with the garage door in some time Also, we've noticed that even the dog areas & walkways surrounding our buildings have been cleaner. Things are shaping up nicely, just wanted to leave a relevant review & let folks know it is a decent place to live in the gritty City RVA.

Lofted Expectations Met

I have lived here for just 2.5 months, but love the style and open feel. As someone that works from home, it's important to feel like I have space to stretch out and "breathe". The view of my surrounding streets and the sunrise is incredible! Every interaction I have had with staff has been very welcoming and helpful, no complaints about the free parking location and certainly no complaints for how close the building is to other great locations downtown! Would highly recommend this place to others!

STILL

I've had some maintenance requests addressed and some completely ignored. Not sure whom is really in charge, I think there's a lot of turnover in the office. STILL love the location and the Canal Walk, the industrial environment suits me well.

Parking

I’d appreciate it if the building has more parking spots so I don't have to move my car every morning. I thought when I move in I will automatically have at least 1 spot in the garage but I have to wait until when I don't know. I feel like after I signed the contract the office doesn't care about anything anymore. Also in the garage at 18th Street I hope y'all can make a sign for motorcycle park in 1 spot so they aren't taking a whole parking spot. I spent every 20mins everyday to find the parking spot sometimes more than that because I got off from work so late and I couldn't find any spots left. More than that I have to move my car so early in the morning. I hope the office can help me with parking spot more. Thank you

Have enjoyed living here!

We have really enjoyed living here for the past four years. The apartment is lovely with the big windows, space, etc. Closet space is fantastic and the bathrooms are a great size. Parking in the Cary Street lot has been convenient and always available. Only noise complaint is having our bedroom against the elevator shaft so sometimes that gets annoying but its not a deal breaker. I've been impressed with how quiet the building is and how well the windows block out city noise. We've had very few maintenance issues over the years and the ones we've had were fixed in a reasonable amount of time. The rest of the property is fine. Pool is nice but needs new chairs. My biggest complaint was the package room but they have recently eliminated that in favor of the package locker in the lobby which is a great improvement. Leasing office communication is a bit slow but good once it gets there. Overall great place to live in an awesome part of town!
