I'm Really Happy
I've lived here for almost a year and I've been really happy. It took a bit to get into my unit but once I did it was great. Whenever I have a maintenance request they are usually completed within a week of me placing the request. The apartment management team is also rather lovely. I'd recommend this building to anyone that has a a dog, especially a larger one.
Honest Review
For 3 years I've been a happy resident of Canal Walk Lofts. Native Richmonder & finally living my best life. City Life and the pros and cons of City Life are to be expected; if you don't like noise don't move to the city, if you're impatient about finding a place to park then don't move to the city, if you're not into diversity and having lots of different people around you all the time, do not move to the city. If you're looking for all of the above, RVA is for you and Canal Walk Lofts might be a good spot.
Enjoying My Stay
I moved to Richmond a year ago and love the location and loft style apartments! It reminds me of my home in NYC.
Amazing management, great location, affordable apartments
I have been living here for only 1.5 weeks so far and overall it has been incredible. Very friendly residents that will hold the door for you, say hello, and have conversations with you. Staff at the Main Street Realty leasing office has been awesome since day 1 of putting in an application. (Huge shoutout to Bonita Ince!)
Great bang for your buck!
My boyfriend and I moved in here about a year ago and have overall been really satisfied with our experience. As any apartment, there are of course a few things we wish we could change but the value of our unit has been unmatched. This building and I believe many other properties owned by Main Street Realty offer an all inclusive monthly rent charge, including all utilities and trash pickup which comes to your door every week day. We love the pool and love the upgrades made to the outdoor area like the addition of the fire pit and 4 gas grills which happened within a year of us living here (lucky us). Our BIGGEST complaint and probably most frustrating thing about living here are the elevators. The main elevator probably goes out of service about once every month/two months and the service elevator in the garage has been out of service for going on 4 months I want to say. It is very rarely that both elevators work. Parking has gotten more expensive despite no other parking options being added, so basically you're paying $25 dollars more a month to park in the same place you might have the whole time you've lived here. There is free parking, but it is limited, which they do notify you of on the tour (at least they did for us). Overall, the pros of this building far outweigh the cons in my experience and I would happily continue to renew my lease here as long as I am working in Richmond.
