'Inexpensive' but not cheap

Lived at Hunters Chase for almost 7 yrs. and don't see moving anytime soon. While the location might be long in the tooth, the maintenance and staff do their best on the upkeep of the complex. Management is working to upgrade many amenities and apartment features while maintaining a reasonable rental price in an inflated Austin rental market. My only wish would be to pay for a parking space. But there is a fair amount of available parking. Would I recommend anyone live here? Yes, if you work in the area. If you work downtown, look further South. 183 traffic is a nightmare during commuter hours.

Its been an overall good experience. The staff could be more available and answer the phone, and maintenance could be a little quicker at responding to fixing things.

Get what you pay for

I've lived here two years. In that time, the quality of the residents has decreased. Pools are rarely open, and no fitness center at all. All under the guise of "staffing and covid". I've found dumpster divers, syringes, and lots of garbage around the complex. Dog owners aren't made to pick up after their dogs. Loud music at 1am from cars. It was good for a place to start out in Austin, but I'm happy to be moving.

Could be better

After living here for the last several years, I definitely have an opinion about the property. The parking lot needs a repair and new asphalt. There are holes as old as my start date. The lack of paid parking/designated spaces is disappointing. The greenery could be improved to help beautify the complex and provide some privacy. Many of the improvements needed are new appliances, porcelain fixtures, and flooring. I know prices are relatively lower than most of the Austin apartments, but the accommodations could be improved. The age of the complex is starting to show. The staff is good people. After Stephanie started, the staff improved their communication and response to requests. Maintenance issues are completed in a timely manner for the most part. To summarize, I stay here because the rent is not outrageous and the office staff are good.

Hunters Chase

Ive been here going on nine years. The property is more affordable than most apartments, but there are many things that need to fixed on the inside. It seems the appearance of the outside of the building is more important than the upkeep of the actual dwelling units.
