Bad outweighs the good

The last year has gone downhill for me. There has been road crews with duke energy on the property for months. Steel plates everywhere. Hard to get around the property or entering and exiting can cause delays at times. My neighbor doesnt clean her liter box and it reeks in the hallway constantly. The windows are in bad shape in my unit leaving drafty or hot conditions. Even on 70 degree days, my apt gets up to 85, forcing me to use the AC. I really don’t see the value for what I pay. Now the maintenance is good and the staff is nice and attentive. They have made improvements with the gym and pool area. My recommendation is to change out the rough concrete for something softer to walk on around the pool and also there are no dumbells in the gym. The new equipment is very nice though. Cabinets in kitchen really need updating to go with granite.

Could use improvement

Overall, I like the apartment. I have lived here for a little over a year but I do think there could be improvements. Maintenance is great and honor requests quickly. I have been dealing with drafty windows in my bedroom and closet and it gets very cold. I was told windows are supposed to be replaced but they aren't sure when. I was hoping they would seal them in the meantime. The cabinets and the light fixtures are dated and I think if they were changed, it would make a huge difference in the overall look.

Room for improvement

There are pros and cons to almost any apartment complex. The cons: when I moved in, I thought I was getting a renovated apartment but a lot of it still seems left over from the old units. The biggest disappointment are the cabinets in the kitchen. They definitely look like the original cabinets from the 90's, the appliances are just ok but the washer and dryer with it being a combo machine, takes a long time to run through just one load so that's disappointing. The faux hard wood floor was not replaced when I moved in. It has a few scratches and places in the tile where it sinks down. I think if they updated the cabinets and matched them to the granite counter tops (which are nice), it would make a difference. I wish the flooring was the same in the hallway as they installed in the coat closet. I do like under the cabinet lighting; it's a nice touch. The windows need to be sealed or replaced. It is so drafty--especially in the bedroom and walk-in closet when there is no vent to get heat. Pros: maintenance fulfills requests quickly when needed and everyone in the office is friendly. I do feel safe on this property and find it to be fairly quiet considering there are lots of kids. I have only been here 6 months so we'll see how the summer is once school is out. I am hoping for more resident activities to partake in and I am looking forward to using the pool in May or June. A hot tub would be a nice addition.
