VOC is great

Overall VOC is a great place to live. People who visit us always ask how we found this place. Its like living in a park. I do love that its not at all like those giant complexes popping up everywhere. Any maintenance is always done right away. Community Manager, Susan, is excellent. She plans lots of things for residents throughout the year; food/ice cream trucks, Reds tickets, pool party, Halloween outdoor movie night, Christmas at the club house. Its a small enough neighborhood that everyone knows each other. Pets are more than welcome.

The lady in the office, susan, is extremley rude and passive aggressive. Theres dogs running wild and poop all over the ground.

Bad outweighs the good

The last year has gone downhill for me. There has been road crews with duke energy on the property for months. Steel plates everywhere. Hard to get around the property or entering and exiting can cause delays at times. My neighbor doesnt clean her liter box and it reeks in the hallway constantly. The windows are in bad shape in my unit leaving drafty or hot conditions. Even on 70 degree days, my apt gets up to 85, forcing me to use the AC. I really don’t see the value for what I pay. Now the maintenance is good and the staff is nice and attentive. They have made improvements with the gym and pool area. My recommendation is to change out the rough concrete for something softer to walk on around the pool and also there are no dumbells in the gym. The new equipment is very nice though. Cabinets in kitchen really need updating to go with granite.

Could use improvement

Overall, I like the apartment. I have lived here for a little over a year but I do think there could be improvements. Maintenance is great and honor requests quickly. I have been dealing with drafty windows in my bedroom and closet and it gets very cold. I was told windows are supposed to be replaced but they aren't sure when. I was hoping they would seal them in the meantime. The cabinets and the light fixtures are dated and I think if they were changed, it would make a huge difference in the overall look.
