No regrets- Won't mind staying another year
I have no regrets living at The Ramsey. There have been hiccups and issues as is expected but all were resolved in a timely manner and with courtesy. They need to have better arrangements regarding packages and mail but they have been trying a few different things so I am giving them the space and time to sort out the kinks. The building is well kept and clean, Maintenance issues are resolved. Accommodations approvals can be lengthy bc of the red tape staff has to go through but it seems to be an upper management thing. In the end it is resolved, patience is needed. As in all locations, you can't choose your neighbors. Some residents here fuss about the weirdest things and have no sense of community. Some are rude and unfriendly but there are also really warm, friendly folks who will hold open doors as well. Generally the place is quiet BUT the building is poorly constructed with regards to dampening sounds between the floors. So, if you are someone who doesn't want to feel like you are living under giants or under a bridge, I suggest choosing a top floor or another place. Security wise, as a person you will feel safe here, so will your vehicle. Think 10x about your deliveries though. Suggestion: there needs to be a different access code for Lobby/ delivery for security purposes. Also there is no call button to the lobby or outside so no one can page you from downstairs. You either have to meet them yourself or share the code, which makes the place less secure. Location is excellent, far away enough from the downtown noise, close enough to walk it for some action. DEFINITELY need a car to access RTP. No rooftop lounge/patio. Closet space is limited, and the closet doors swing inside, further limiting space. Smallest closets I came across in RTP area. Laundry is a stacked setup in a closet, not a room. Paint on walls seems cheap and is easily scuffed and whomever mounted these doors, left the space to the bottom, not the top so forget putting over-the-door hooks
The Ramsey
Living at the Ramsey was a wonderful experience overall and had lots of perks when it came to amenities. The location itself being so close to downtown opened so many opportunities to explore Durham as a whole. Maintenance was always on time and helpful in resolving any issues with the unit. Leasing office was excellent up until the renewal time where I got screwed overall because they gave me verbal confirmation that I had time to decide whether I wanted to continue living at the Ramsey or not. Got penalized if i were to decide elsewhere even after I was told that I had extended week to decide past the 60 day notice. Just be aware to always have these types of thing agreed in written or electronic form. Otherwise no other complaints except for the cleanliness of the halways where pets would leave fluids everywhere.
The Ramsey Apartments
I have lived at the Ramsey since it was built, so two yesrs now. Its a luxury apartment located in the city. The staff is very friendly and professional. The amenities are nice. The property is alsways very clean. Zero complaints here!
