Love living here

I have lived here since August 2021 and have recently extended our lease until August 2023. I am a college student and had no clue how 'real life' worked so Akelius was the perfect company to rent my first apartment with; they made the process so much simpler/easier than I imagine it would have been renting from another landlord. They are always very dependable for answering any questions or concerns, as well as responding quickly to maintenance requests. My only grievances stem from small things that sometimes are out of anyone's control, really. The heating often goes in and out, which can be difficult living in Boston in the winter. I have a personal vendetta with the local towing companies, too, who have towed my car three times despite that I have a permit; ultimately this is my issue, but something to be aware of if you chose to move here and not have a parking space behind the building. Also want to note that my apartment, at least, does not get much natural light in certain rooms so it can feel a bit dark. There is also limited storage in the bathroom, refrigerator, and kitchen cabinets; however, this is all very insignificant compared to all of the benefits that living here has. I obviously extended my lease so I do want to emphasize that this is a wonderful living space and I recommend it to anyone who can afford it... as it is quite expensive for Brighton, MA.

Poor Service

Overpriced and management does not act like it. Good luck getting anything fixed ever. Everything looks nice on the surface but it's all cheap, and it will break. We have wood panels falling out everyday, a broken shower head that we mentioned when we were moving in (they never fixed it) and don't even get me started on trying to find someone who will actually help you get something fixed.

Dryer 1 Not Working

The machine can be started, but the clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle (1 cycle=60min). I am aware that there has been an attempt to fix it last time per my request, but the issue has not been resolved, contrary to the notification I received from building management upon their marking the request as complete.
