The sunny Upper Portola East neighborhood's four-bedroom, carpeted townhouses were added across the street from the Upper Portola West townhomes almost 20 years after the Upper Portola West townhomes were built. While short on decorative touches, they offer ample space in the form of an additional bedroom and bathroom. What unites the entire neighborhood is its close proximity to outdoor activities including Julius Kahn Playground, picnicking and birdwatching at El Poln Spring, and an organic community garden. The retail district of Pacific Heights is a short walk to the south, and Presidio Golf Course is a short but admittedly steep walk up the hill to the west.

Gorgeous and quiet

I've lived in the Presidio for over two years now and I love it! I get to live in both a national park and a city so I have the best of both worlds! The housing itself may not have the most modern appliances or cool color schemes or whatever else it is that folks look for. It's safe, it's quiet and it's beautiful. If I've had any issues, whether it's a basic maintenance issue or otherwise, everyone with the Trust is helpful and friendly. Some folks may not like that there's even more fog here than other parts of the City so it's often cooler and cloudier, but I've gotten used to it. I get to sit on my balcony and watch hawks fly overhead or hike by the beach or in grassland and forest or head down to the food trucks at the Main Lawn and Tunnel Tops and I feel so fortunate that I am able to live here. I hesitate to write this because I want to keep it a secret!

Good overall

The house itself was pretty outdated and needs to be remodeled or updated. But the location is beautiful and definitely worth it.
