Lining Presidio Boulevard as it descends into the park, this neighborhood's Mission Revival beauties boast views toward the city and Golden Gate Bridge. Built for officers' families during World War I, each spacious four-bedroom residence duplex or single-family features throwbacks to an earlier time, such as the "butler's pantry" and "powder room," plus a large formal dining room and living room. The units also offer ample storage space, a basement, and a detached garage. The Presidio Boulevard neighborhood has a high walkability score and is in easy proximity to both city life and wildlife. For instance, it's ideally positioned near the dining spots on the Main Post and in the Letterman District, yet nature awaits an easy hike away at the revitalized El Poln Spring. Chestnut Street and Union Street are a short stroll outside the Lombard Gate, and Pacific Heights is a vigorous uphill walk or short drive through the Presidio Gate. The PresidiGo Shuttle stops near here on its way to and from downtown, as does MUNI.

Best neighborhood in California

I've lived here for three years now and never want to leave. It's an amazing, well-maintained, well-designed, very functional home with incredibly scenic views and space to spread out

Overall, great for value. I love living here.

My biggest issue is that the insulation of the buildings is not good :( We can hear the traffic, foghorn, bus hisses, strong winds,... very loudly inside the building. Same issue about the walls inside the house; it is very easy to hear the person in the next room for adjacent rooms.

The state of the basements in many of these old houses (including bathrooms) is really a downside to living in the presidio. The trust should put effort into updating some of these facilities. Having concrete floors in bathrooms and bedrooms and paying nearly $10,000 a month doesn't seem right.
