Fees.

Fees. What could have been an amazing year here was ruined by a comical number of fees. Some included in the lease, some left as unexpected loopholes. I'm a big fan of integrity and transparency, and I ended my lease with Inspire on the basis of failed trust. Some fees to expect: - non optional $85/mo internet (unless you relentlessly ask to have it cancelled) + no option to set up your own service - hot water, water heating, trash, and a trash admin fee (four separate charges every month) plus an additional fee to the third party that processes the utility charges - $125/mo parking fees with no guest parking - occasional overcharges for utilities that are not refunded unless you catch it and request refunds - confusing ledgers that are riddled with charge-backs, concessions double charges and refunds that make understanding where your money is going very difficult - despite not being written anywhere in the lease, a mandatory $175 painting fee and $200 cleaning fee surprise the week of move out In addition to the fees, you can expect a very sensitive fire alarm system that triggers sirens in every room at least once a month. Can also be multiple times in the same night. A heavy volume of short term Airbnb guests that roam the hallways, utilize amenities, and treat the building like a hotel when it's your permanent living space. There's not a strong sense of community here. Having moved across the country and lived in many different locations in the military, this was the shortest lease I've ever experienced. I moved 9 minutes down the street to somewhere new the day my lease expired, which I was charged extra for due to the management misleading me on the proper move out day. There's a lot of reviews here that I don't believe to be from real people. You can't stay here long term and not mention the fire alarms.

Moving ASAP

I have lived in a wide range of apartments across the country. From that experience, I can confidently say this has been the worst-managed building I’ve ever lived in. The issues began immediately. I wasn’t allowed to move in on my scheduled date, a delay that wasn’t communicated, and I was left without a place to stay. No compensation, no accountability. I was told my rent would be $2,095/month, only to later discover that management had quietly structured payments to recover a prior “credit” by inflating my monthly charges. There was no signed concession agreement, and no clear disclosure. Then, when my lease renewal came, they claimed my rent had been $3,388/month, an inflated figure used to justify a $175/month increase. Beyond rent, the overall building operations were consistently disappointing: Water shutoffs occurred multiple times due to burst pipes, often with little to no notice, leaving residents without water for hours or entire days. Amenities like the gym, rooftop, and lounges were out of order, damaged, or heavily used by Airbnb guests. Parking, which started at $125/month per car, is now being increased to $175, with no added value or upgrades. A significant portion of the building is used for Airbnb-style short-term rentals, which means strangers are constantly in shared spaces, the elevators, gym, even the garage. It doesn’t feel like a residential community. It feels like a hotel. And the fire alarm system is one of the most disruptive features I’ve encountered in any apartment. If a single smoke detector in the building goes off, every unit evacuates. The alarm, placed directly above the bed in each unit, is loud enough to startle you awake in the middle of the night. There's constant fees added that almost seem arbitrary. Wifi is $85/mo, a trash management fee, a trash removal fee, both hot water and water heating fees. The building seems to be struggling financially and I want out.
