Stayed this summer. Brand new building and apartment was in excellent handover conditions. Everything works well and management very helpful. Location convenient. Close to restaurants and supermarkets.

Exciting location in downtown Berkeley and modern apartments

I have lived here for a couple of months. I like there are people from different backgrounds and they are all kind. The property manager, Jessica, is super responsive and friendly. The apartment is new and has a nice view of the Sather tower. I love the wooden floors and the fact the washer and dryer are inside the unit. Also, the terrace has a garden with flowers, where you occasionally encounter humming-birds. The terrace has a breathtaking view of the golden gate bridge and SF. Proximity to everything. I am enjoying this place very much.

Location location location

Seemingly 99% occupied by Berkeley undergrad and grad students, this building is extremely close to campus and makes a commute to any class or lab extremely quick and simple. The apartments are new and have good washer / driers, a great stove, and some other new appliances. You have numerous buses that arrive just outside the building, which is also highly convenient. The management is extremely supportive, particularly the property manager, who is very nice and was helpful. There's nice natural light, largely from a big window in the main room. There are, though, several issues. The only window in the whole apartment is a tiny window in the main room – my unit has no windows in the bedroom. This means that it gets extremely hot, even when the window is open (though I often can't leave the window open because there's construction a block away on a new building, which means when my window is open, a thin layer of dirt / debris gets inside part of the room, especially if the window is open 2 or more days). The primary challenge for East-facing apartments is that, even with the windows shut, music from the bar on the corner is extremely loud on Friday and Saturday nights until 1:30am, cause the bass is turned all the way up. My unit (a 1-bedroom) had no closet, so you also have to get more creative about storage. All in all, a highly convenient (though often hectic) location and an almost-brand-new building, but not without a few challenges.
