Our favorite home in virginia. The staff is kind, helpful and professional

    4.5/5 Crystal on Jul 29, 2023

This complex is in a beautiful and extremely convenient area. The staff is super helpful and always friendly. They seem to treat their residents like family. Lediamond (one of the main leasing office staff members) is absolutely amazing and very responsive. The grounds keeper (Phil I think?) is also wonderful. It's so calming just going for a walk on the grounds. The area is beautifully landscaped and well kept. Maintenance is not the fastest (in my experience), but is also not unreasonably slow. The bedrooms are a great size, and I never have issues with parking. It's very pet friendly and there are "poopy pouch" stands littered throughout to keep the area clean, as well as grills and an absolutely beautiful pool area with a large shallow end for the babies. They are constantly hosting events for the residents like movie showings, mother's day/father's day events, ice cream, and pool parties. My only complaints are that the rent is quite pricey (at least for a 3 bedroom). I don't think it's too expensive, but if you have one income it's definitely difficult. Additionally, if you live on a lower floor, you WILL hear the beeping from the sprinkler room (sometimes at night) which can be very annoying if you can't tune things out well. I am very satisfied with my decision to move here. The apartments aren't full of extra luxury items, but are modern and spacious. The living rooms are a bit small and awkward, but other than that, even the laundry area is amazing with wide double doors that swing parallel to the neighboring walls so that you can maneuver easily in and out of the hallway with your clothes. I definitely recommend it if you can afford a few extra hundred dollars for the peace of mind that you are in a safe, clean community.

Suffolk is a small city in the 757 Area known as The Seven Sister Cities. It’s the largest city in Virginia by land area and one of the oldest cities in the state, attracting renters with a diverse community, quality education and excellent outdoor activities. Suffolk is also close to the Norfolk Naval Station and The Great Dismal Swamp and hosts several annual festivals, making it appealing for different types of renters. However, Suffolk renters may experience extreme weather, with hurricanes and tropical storms during summer and heavy snow and ice during winter storms.

Renting in Suffolk, VA

Most residents own a home rather than rent in Suffolk, but there’s still a copious rental market with everything from 20th-century townhomes to lakefront properties spread on several acres. Most rental homes and apartments for rent in Suffolk are located in downtown Suffolk, near the main amenities and transportation hubs. Also known as Old Suffolk, it’s a unique area where renters can find historic buildings converted into apartment complexes with one- to three-bedroom apartments for rent. The northern part of the city is also popular among renters due to the proximity of several major roads that provide an easy commute to bigger cities. Note that the law limits the amount of security deposit the landlord may ask for to two months’ rent. In addition, the landlord has to return it within 45 days of terminating the lease. Renters are usually responsible for keeping up with the payment of utilities, while ending the lease or changing the amount of rent requires prior written notice.

In addition, The Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel — a major route that connects Suffolk to Norfolk — is also nearby. The tunnel is part of the Hampton Roads Beltway, which runs around the cities of Hampton Roads. In addition to these major routes, Suffolk also has many smaller roads and trails that allow renters to get around the city quickly. Uber and Lyft are also available for renters using ridesharing options. Finally, the city is served by two airports, Suffolk Executive Airport and Norfolk International Airport.
