Been renting a unit for a couple of years now. Very happy with the storage center and especially when you have to call in, someone actually answers the phone, usually Jim in which he is always very helpful. Good customer service from this location. ... Read more

I'm updating my glowing review from four years ago from 5 stars to 1. Since switching to new ownership, Big Ring has raised rates and is never available to take my calls and never returns my messages. Now they are charging me insurance coverage for my unit despite my having already provided proof of insurance. And when I call to discuss, i get voicemail and no return call. BELOW IS MY REVIEW FROM FOUR YEARS AGO. I WISH THIS TEAM WAS STILL IN CHARGE. Without a doubt, this is one of the cleanest and most affordable storage units in Appleton. It is well lit and conveniently located. Top it off with excellent customer service and you have no reason to look elsewhere! ... Read more

I like the convenience and location. The unit I got was clean and I didn’t have issues with access at anytime. Nick, was flexible when I initially needed the unit and worked promptly with me. I want to give this place a higher rating but something didn’t sit right when I brought it to the attention of the owner multiple times I was ignored. I know times are tuff but I noticed there are people actually living in some of these storage units-as in I drove by units that were open with people sleeping on the beds and hanging around drinking. This was multiple times and different units while I was picking or dropping off to my unit. Also, these people were constantly smoking on the inside of these units which is a hazard if this place catches fire my stuff is lost and if your the unit right next to them, you stuff now smells like cigarette smoke. This didn’t make me or my wife comfortable from time to time with these people hanging around outside. There is not on-site office nor cameras I felt monitoring the site. ... Read more

Big Ring Storage was a blessing to our family. My mom sold her home and she still had some items she wanted to keep. Nick's storage unit was clean, affordable and quickly accessible from the highway. Every month, my mom had an auto debit from her checking account which made payments easy and convenient. Thank you Big Ring Storage! ... Read more

From day one I was impressed with the way Nick handles his business. I needed a unit quickly and Nick made it very easy for me to get settled in right away. His price was reasonable and the units we're clean. I'll be there when he builds the new units to get one the size I need. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Big Ring Storage - 1101 North Bluemound Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
