Read some helpful reviews of Prime Storage (WI02) at 2400 West College Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Not sure if Brendan is the store manager or not, but he should be, very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facility is nice and clean and I have never had issues. Exactly what you’d want in a storage facility. I did not like the constant rising prices (twice in less than 12month lease) and extra charges for after hour entry so only 4 stars. ... Read more

Prime Storage is horrible with getting back to you. I have been waiting three weeks for a district manager to get back to me. I paid for tow years up front & was told at the time this would guarantee my rate. Later I am told in the small print this is not guaranteed. Rate increased from $56/month to $149.00/Month! "Bait & Switch"! I asked for a complete ledger with every item on it. What was finally sent is so convoluted! They have two rent prices for one unit. They don't send billing statements and add late fees! I had private insurance and they were charging me for their own insurance. Wanted clarity on final credit & adjustment but they never got this over. I should should have one rent charge. The bill looks like I have two units and I am paying them for insurance with late fees. Impossible to get anyone who has power to do anything! Going to move out! Extremely difficult to deal with! I called and spoke to Ashley. I asked her if she would stay in an apartment if they raised her rent by over triple? The billing & ledgers are impossible to follow. ... Read more

Unfortunately, my experience with their management of this property is overwhelmingly awful. The staff do not put any effort into maintaining cleanliness, there is always garbage laying everywhere, the lights in the hallways and elevator are half burnt out, and the overall upkeep of the interior is shameful. Frequently, there are people living in empty units. When I brought this concern up to management they told me it was none of my business. Then when I found the door broken and propped open one day, I was told “well, it’s not an immediate security issue” so they clearly have no intention or motivation to keep your belongings safe and secure. I moved my things out immediately after that interaction. I would not recommend utilizing this place to store your items. They will not be safe here. ... Read more

The process was painless and easy. Didn't take long for me to reserve my unit before I was contacted by somebody. Everything was handled online or over the phone.... and voila, I had a unit ready to move into that same day! ... Read more

I stop using this place late December early January and they’re still charging me for an empty unit. I called and spoke to someone as well as sent an email letting them know I will no longer be using the space way before the allotted time but here we are late January going into February and I’m still being charged. Also, the place wasn’t the cleanest and during the winter someone definitely pissed in that elevator. ... Read more

Nice new building, but facility is dirty, appears never cleaned, starting with the parking lot. Beware in the parking lot, there is always nails and glass and trash surrounding the outside. I rented a small unit at the Appleton location for 21 months. Rent started at $63 in Feb 2023, went up to $98 by June 2023 (I complained and talked them down to $88/mo), went up to $114 by March 2024, and by Nov 2024 they raised it again to $124. Nearly doubled in 21 months! My monthly rental did include their insurance for only $3,000. The last increase induced me to sell everything and not have storage problems ever again. I was about to move to Kauai and leave everything in storage, but that final increase made me change my plans. When I originally called them for storage the lady at the main office told me I could store my car there (she even googled the length of my car to make sure it fit in the unit). Good thing I went to see the space prior to renting and that facility does not have car storage units whatsoever. ?!?!?! That made me have to change my plans. On top of all that, behind the facility there is a homeless community living in the woods. Some of the homeless folks were renting units in the cold season and sitting in their units during the day to warm up and do drugs. I did alert the staff and I do believe they did something about it. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Beware, I see they are now offering new contracts for first 4 months at 50% off. Your rent is very likely to raise quickly. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Prime Storage (WI02) - 2400 West College Avenue start from $90 and can go up to $333 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
