Decent rates for when you do need to get a storage unit. Choose when you would like to have your payment automated (doesn't have to be the 1st of the month), and when you need to give them notice of vacating your storage, they don't need 30 days notice. The people that run the facility are respectful too. Some storage places tend to have rude and nosey receptionists/managers (the last place we rented from). ... Read more

Kind owner's and easy to communicate with. I previously was at one of the large storage chains and only having rented here for a few months I am so much happier. Personal pins and codes to get into the facility. Someone on site almost 24/7. Highly recommend renting a storage space if you're in the Tacoma area. ... Read more

Very clean facilities the owners are so nice. My only complaint is the spider webs but that just because I'm a chicken for spiders and it's a storage facility. I really like that they have carts accessible for you too use and they are in good shape too. It is a small cozy facility I'm not sure how big their units get ours is pretty big and not too expensive either definitely recommend to friends and family. ... Read more

It gives me a great sigh of relief that my property is safe and clean there. Highly recommend them. Thank you John and Jeremy for all your help! ... Read more

The units are clean and Jeremy is very professional to work with. However, since moving my daughters belongings into the unit here in late September I've had to call Jeremy twice to correct overbilling charges. If you opt to use this facility, be sure to check your statements every month as you might find charges that should not be there. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Pearl Street Self Storage - 1001 North Pearl Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
