What customers are saying

Read some helpful reviews of AFM Storage at 1501 East Bessemer Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

So the storage facility itself is fine. The older gentlemen that work there are great, but there is a younger man who is at the service desk and he is cordial, but every time I say "Thank you" or any pleasantries, he says nothing, completely ignores me. It's not a huge deal, but if the people that I know would come there to rent a storage unit, that would be off-putting, and they would take high offense to that. I would like to refer people to use the facility, but because of the type of people they are, they would get annoyed by this young man's refusal to say sometime as simple as "you're welcome" or "sure". When you are in customer facing positions, making the customer not feel like a nuisance is a priority. Some people could take that as being too picky. If you don't mind the young associate being curt and even ignoring some things you say when you come in the office, then this place is fine to use for your storage needs. ***There are mice, as with any storage unit. As long as you keep any food items out, you shouldn't have a problem with pests. My dad accidentally left a pack of crackers in a box, and there were rat droppings all throughout. But, as I said, I think this happens at any storage unit.*** ... Read more

Worst customer service ever. Lied to my face, altered information and some more things. First they lied and said my storage would be free for the first month and only 8$ for the next months. Then they proceeded to call the cops after confronting them about the false information. I ADVISE EVERYONE DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL GET OVER ON YOU AND TAKE YOUR MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT. They over charge for storage and for U-Hauls also. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at AFM Storage - 1501 East Bessemer Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
