I love living here. I've been living in my apartment to 8 years. My location is an All access community. Shopping and Public Transportation is awesome. Love it.

The staff have been great, however over the 5 1/2 years I have lived here, there has been a high turnover of staff from the property manager down to the maintenance workers. I gave parking a lower rating because the corner where I park is used by homeless people as a urinal. Human faeces is also not uncommon and the stench of both can make parking ones car a very unpleasant experience. Cons: the smell of weed comes into my apartment from outside or through the vents. The apartment wide fire alarm goes of at least 10 to 12 times a year. 2 nights ago, it went off at 2.30 and 4.00 in the early hours of the morning, totally disrupting sleep. I’m not sure why we have such a high number of false alarms but now I don’t even see residents congregating in the courtyard like in the past. It seems people are no longer taking the alarms seriously which is a problem should there be a real fire one day. Pros. Easy access to freeway and public transportation. Janitorial staff are doing their best to keep the hallways and walkways outside clean. Ms Perlita the Property manager is easy to contact by phone , always helpful and work orders are completed in a reasonable amount of time.

Hismen Hin-Nu Terrace is designed for households both large and small, with income at less than 50% or 60% of the area median. Townhomes (3- and 4-bedrooms) are located around the rear courtyards, and smaller apartments (1-, 2-, and some 3-bedrooms) are arranged as flats along corridors in a 4-story elevator-served building facing the main street, International Boulevard. The first floor along International Boulevard contains commercial space, a Head Start center, and the management office. Two garages, a laundry room, a courtyard, and the community room are also situated on the first level. The name “Hismen Hin-Nu” means “Sun Gate” in the language of the Muwekma Ohlone Indians, who first lived in what we today call the San Antonio district. The name not only recognizes the history of the area, but also celebrates the ethnic and cultural diversity of all those who have settled in the community.
