RV and Boat Storage in San Diego: Where to Find the Best Storage Options for Your Needs

San Diego, California, is perfectly positioned to allow its residents to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in and around the city, including boating and RVing. San Diego has three harbors offering marina facilities, plus other places where you have access to the ocean with small boats and kayaks. From boating around the coast and admiring the city’s skyline to going on the open ocean, you have plenty of options, depending on your skills and preferences.

There are also plenty of nature parks and reserves around San Diego, where you can go for a weekend getaway with your family. Agua Caliente County Park, for one, is a desert oasis where you can bathe in soothing mineral waters. There’s Tijuana River Valley Park, the place to be for breathtaking views and many miles of hiking and biking trails. Forest lovers can also find some respite from city life in William Heise County Park which features some lovely places to explore, camp, hike or bike.

With all those natural attractions nearby, from the ocean to the desert, mountain ranges and forests, it’s no wonder why many San Diego residents decide to purchase boats and/or RVs that allow them to truly enjoy the area. But what’s the best way to keep recreational vehicles when not in use?

Parking rules for oversized vehicles are rather strict in San Diego, so even parking RVs might become a challenge. Very few people have garages or yards large enough to allow them to park their boat and RV, while also having sufficient remaining space for their day-to-day cars and other items. One easy fix would be renting self storage for your boat or RV, whether it’s a closed unit or an outdoor parking space.

Storage facilities ensure proper safety conditions for your recreational vehicles – fenced and gated perimeter, electronic access, security cameras, wide driveways allowing you to maneuver it easily. Also, you can pick up or drop off your boat or RV at your convenience, as most storage facilities have generous access hours, from early in the morning to late at night, or even 24/7 access.

To make your task of finding a storage facility for your RV or your boat, we selected five of the best self storage facilities that provide RV or boat storage in San Diego:
