For the amount of square footage in The Woodlands, it’s definitely a bang for your buck. The design is beautiful, and the apartments are in a quiet neighborhood near HEB, Whole Foods, and Costco. They have a gorgeous swimming pool and a sun-bathing island. The cons, however, include no jacuzzi, (and a jacuzzi would be nice for social events and heating up after a nice, cold swim); old, malfunctioning appliances (but the maintenance man is very helpful), and zero parking. I have to often park on the opposite side of my complex, and if it was during the day and sunny, that walk would be fine. However, in Houston weather, walking at night across the complex in the elements is far from enjoyable. There are cars here that never leave, that take up parking spaces. I wish the leasing office manager would reconstruct the parking system, or add rules so people that own multiple cars don’t hog spaces.

No events. Absolutely nothing for children. No access to amenities. Reservations functionality is not working. Access to the business center is limited to 1 hour. Parking is dangerous because the reflection from eco windows is magnified and melts plastic parts of the car. Staff were informed but didn't do anything to avoid it in the future or compensate. You will hear every step made in the apartment above and you can always can hear what neighbors from the apartment below are talking about. Comparing to other communities the Retreat has great potential, but the management doesn't do anything to bring it to life.
