I applied for an apartment after the leasing agent assured me that if I decided the apartment wasn’t a good fit, my application fee would be refunded. She emphasized that there was no obligation to move forward and even offered several incentives to encourage me to apply. After touring the apartment, I realized the layout wasn’t right for me. One of my main concerns from the beginning was having adequate separation between the bedrooms, and the unit I toured had the bedrooms much closer together than I wanted. I also wasn’t comfortable with the surrounding area, which is largely commercial and near numerous warehouses. I never signed a lease or agreed to move forward. However, when I requested the promised refund, I was told I wasn’t eligible because I didn’t notify them the same day as my tour. That condition was never disclosed to me. Had I been clearly informed that the refund depended on notifying them that day, I would have done so. My issue isn’t that I chose not to lease the apartment, as it’s the lack of transparency. If there are conditions attached to a refund offer, they should be clearly communicated upfront rather than after someone has already paid. This experience was extremely disappointing. I relied on the information provided by the leasing agent when I submitted my application, only to be told afterward that there were additional conditions that had never been explained. I cannot recommend a leasing office that is not transparent about its policies, especially when those policies affect whether customers receive the refund they were promised.

The Colton is just what I was looking for. It is a quiet area, and it is in close proximity to everything you would need! I would highly recommend residing here.
