Building is nice, management is not

I lived in the 600 on Broad building for two years and I really enjoyed my apartment. The open layout was nice and there were no issues besides one kitchen drawer that did not open because of a pole in front of it (poor design choice). August of last year - my boyfriend and I started to smell something in our bathroom that was becoming more pungent. At first, I thought it was mildew so we cleaned out the bathroom but that did not help. There was a spot of liquid beginning to form on our ceiling. We called maintenance to check out the leak. Heard back in a couple of hours saying that someone has passed away above us, so that is what we were smelling that week. The biohazard people came a few days later to cut out a hole in our bathroom ceiling to clean and left us with a giant fan to help with the smell. It still reeked like decaying corpse and all they did was patch up the ceiling hole with some plastic wrap and advised us that they would be back in a few days. They did not come that week, we called management who claimed that they did but will send someone else out. After 1 MONTH of calling they finally patched the hole up - but it seemed like they did not finish cleaning out our ceiling because I still got whiffs of the dead body. Could you imagine living like that for months? I was ecstatic to move out so I could get ready in my bathroom and not smell a dead person! There was no courtesy or empathy from management regarding our situation and we were treated like we were the issue. My boyfriend was told "If it was really that bad you would've been in our office." Why should it have to get to that point to solve an issue that is your fault? I was also back charged $500+ at once because management forgot to bill me for parking for 3 months. Absolutely ridiculous. As soon as I can I never want to give you people my money again. I hope you solve your issues or pay your workers more money - because I know you guys have it - so they are not so miserable and soulless

A rental, not a home; serves its purpose

The building is an okay place. Feels temporary and management treats you as such. Utilities are expensive and management doesn't share satisfactory transparency for why this happens nor do they work/invest towards lasting repairs. Maintenance will give things basic patch jobs but they are quick to purposefully do sub-par work as revenge. Most concerning is my neighbors are often without AC/heating, even in extreme temperatures above 80 or below 68 during summer and winter. Still, the units are in decent shape cause the building is solid and not as old as some of the historic homes in the area. Parking is very limited. Location is very close to public transit and CC.

Wasted Opportunity

I have lived in this building for 6 years and its a shame that it feels like the stepchild to PMC's properties. The outside back area is wasted. In 6 years, I have barely seen anyone sit out there. A grill would do wonders. Maintenance takes forever and it's not their fault. The wallpaper is peeling in some areas. The game room above the gym is useless. The building is probably considered outdated copared to other newer building that are popping up. Whatever happened to the pool access at 640?

No Heat or AC

Decent location in city, but building and management are very poor. The HVAC DOES NOT WORK. Did not have heat this past winter, and management did nothing to fix the problem. And that's not periodically - it doesn't work for months at a time. AC also doesn't work, but they'll remind you that they're not legally required to offer AC (even though they advertise it). Management does nothing to resolve issues in building and is genuinely unpleasant to deal with. There are many other good properties in area, such as LVL North, The Hamilton, 640 Lofts, Towers North, and Broadridge (all within two blocks).

Great neighborhood, maintenance could be improved

Love the location (I walk to Center City for work) and access to everything Philly. Local neighborhood has everything you need within a half mile: multiple grocery stores, restaurants, close to Broad Street Line and multiple bus lines. Depending on the maintenance request, can take some time and not be completed fully nor quickly (ex. HVAC, appliances). Security can be hit or miss, but consistency has gotten better.
